Review summary

We have been cruising with different cruise lines. Overall, the food and service of the Carnival Magic are as expected of a cruise line.  However, the evening shows are poor, especially after paying top dollars for the Christmas week cruise. We had very high expectation but were very disappointed.  A couple of the shows were merely a one man talk-show and the only magic show was just a laugh - wasting time. They even cancel a show after the audiences were sitting in the theater for a while - not very professional. The two shifts of dinning are not good for us either. We were assigned a second shift and finish dinning at 9:30 p.m. every night - really too late for us going to bed with a full stomach.  Sorry, we will not cruise with Carnival again in the future.

You haven't paid "TOP DOLLAR" until you have taken a Disney cruise! You can take 3 carnival cruises to 1 Disney cruise and have just as much fun! As far as dinning... You can request early, late or open dinning after you book your cruise. Hope you find a cruise line that will suit your needs. :)

You're aware that it's a cruise line, not A Chorus Line or Broadway, right? I've never found the comedy shows in the Punchliner to be all that. Often you can find funnier things just watching some of the people on the ship.. but I go for the overall experience and wouldn't consider dinging 3 points over shows and late dinner. Speaking of which, there's always alternatives to the MDR if you have plans for the evening. Enjoy paying higher rates elsewhere for a similar experience.

I feel if you are looking for something to complain about this would be it. I don't have any expectations. I thought shows were great.
