Review summary

The cruise was very relaxing for us after a busy wedding planning month. We mainly relaxed and ate lots of food while we were onboard. Food was rather good for the lunch buffet, but i recommend the Tandoor indian food by the buffet. And do dine at the the nightly diner. It is a wonderful experience and you might meet some interesting people. I would cruise again but would try other ships and cruise lines.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Evening dining was so much fun and the waiters are the same if you choose a dining time. Great food and you can order as much as you like. Meeting new people was fun. Do eat the SeaDay brunch. It is a wonderful meal. The Pizza bar is fantastic and the Tandoor indian food is to die for. Had it everyday.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The only thing that was fun would have been the mini golf, and swimming. Other than that not many activities on board. But again we mainly went to relax.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
We are a young twenties couple and we really did not see any entertainment that suited us. The comedy was alright and we hoped the bingo would be fun but it cost to play. Not cool. We mainly just hung out on the deck, walked around, and were lazy. Which was nice.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Nice large ship with plenty of space and rooms to see.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nice cabin with lots of storage and enough room. Balcony was very cool and has 3 chairs and a small table. Always clean because the attendants clean in the later morning and while you are at dinner.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Cozumel, Mexico

Rent a car and drive the island. Worth it. Costs about $70 for a day.

Belize City, Belize

Terrible. Had to take a water taxi from the boat to the island. Took 30mins. Then we were not allowed to leave the port, only at our own risk. But I do advise a nice resort type excursion because there are some beautiful islands around there.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
Do an excursion where you can go through the country, Because there is no other way to leave the port.

Carnival does own one set of docks and port at Cozumel. Many ports are cruise line owned and operated. People in their 20's are a very small portion of the passengers and they are going to cater to the bulk of them. Belize has become a really bad port according to most reports I've read.

Interesting review. Do Carnival really own the port at Cozumel? Cruising in your 20's for some is not ideal as you found out, although playing bingo takes things to the other level

If you ever find yourself in Roatan again, I would recommend spending the $40 or $50 for Pirates, Birds and Monkeys excursion. You see a great deal of the island. At the park itself, we shouldered parrots and capuchin monkeys. All in all, Roatan was one of the highlights of our trip.
