Review summary

All the stuff you would expect on the vessel was, for the most part, very good.

However, in our case, our neighboring cabin kept their TV on all night at high volume!  No Sleep!  Carnival Guest Services took THREE days to attempt to remedy the situation.  Finally, with security checking for excessive noise intermittently at night.  At that, their efforts were only partially successful.  No other accommodations or adjustments offered.  Not the best vacation, I have wasted $-Grand on!

The Jolly Roger Sail and Snorkel Excursion at Roatan Island, Honduras, was fabulous.  I'd highly recommend that; overall, fun and great value!

Cabin was good. As was the balcony. Continuous nightly loud noise from neighboring cabin ruined an otherwise great vacation.

Ship tip

Cabin and dining support personnel were fantastic, as were the main show personnel. The comedians not so much.

I bring earplugs because my husband snores like a bear but if I didn't I would nicely go next door and ask my neighbors to please turn down tv, it doesn't hurt to ask, if they are a jerk then I'd call security, sometimes being nice might work.

You have to be a big pain to hotel services and to the offending neighbor.

oh for goodness sake. My hub can not sleep without a fan on (light sleeper). if its not OK to ask neighbors to tone it down I need to order a noise machine. negative comments are not in the spirit of this chat and help no one!

I would just really like to know if it is appropriate to knock on the neighbors door and ask them to turn it down.

Whether it's a loud tv or loud neighbors, it was disruptive enough that it made it hard for them to enjoy their evenings. I wake up easily and find it very hard to go back to sleep so this would have made me miserable!

I'm a very light sleeper and need my rest so I definitely understand--I hope it remember to take some good ear plugs!

I'm bringing ear plugs

I could understand how a very loud tv could seriously interrupt your vacation. If you are not able to rest and get a full nights sleep it doesn't make for a very fun day the following day. And if you're having to deal with that day after day night after night I could see that being a huge issue.

Are the TVs that load? Must be thin walls. ear plugs?

jjonesnco    9 years ago

could you have asked them to turn it down?
