Review summary

We absolutely loved the Magic!  It's a beautiful ship with lots of amenities.  Our kids especially loved the water park and the sky course.  We also enjoyed the open air game area for foosball and putt putt golf.  The food on this ship was pretty good.  The service in the Southern Lights dining room was lacking, but we did get a chance to have breakfast in the Northern Lights where we experienced awesome service.  The Green Eggs and Ham breakfast was a lot of fun, and all of the food was really cute and also tasty.  Now the negative....we did have a smoker neighbor which made it hard to enjoy our balcony much at all.  We had a cove balcony which we absolutely loved, we just wish that we would've been able to actually use it.  We complained to guest services, but I guess they couldn't find the smoking culprit or either the culprit didn't care about the $250 fine.  The smoking never stopped during the whole 7 days and that was disappointing.  It didn't ruin our cruise though and all in all we had a blast!!!

Great except for the smoking on the balcony neighbors. Our steward Richmund was amazing and our cabin was clean and cozy! We would definitely choose this cabin again! We loved it!!!

I also just got off the Magic and had the same complaint about smoking. There was no place on the ship that did not smell like smoke. I smelled it from my balcony on deck 9 at all times and could see people smoking on balconies which was prohibited. I also felt sorry for those that had to work in the casino. It was a gray haze of air poluted with smoke tht they had to breathe eveery day.... I smelled smoke in the hallways, elevators, etc... I hated it. I also traveled with kids and they didnt mind booting my little one out of the pool for wearing pampers but wouldnt say anything to people about their smoking..

Was the water temp cold for water activities on the boat?? We are going in October so We are trying to get a gate for what the kids will be able to do on the ship before we decide on excursions...

I am sorry I didn't mean to post this. We are going in December . I thought you could not smoke on the balconies. We were just on the carnival Triumph and there was no smoking. Sorry.

Smoking is currently permitted on Carnival Magic cabin balconies, unless it is designated a Spa Cabin -- then you are subject to a $250 cleaning fee if the cabin steward notices the smell of smoke in the cabin.

Thanks for the review.   Glad you had a great time and you did not let the smoker ruin your vacation.  To bad they could not find out who it was.

Best wishes for your next cruise to be smoke free.
