Northern Lights and Southern Lights Dining Rooms on Carnival Magic

Had your time dining in Northern Lights Very understaffed!!!! Wait staff in teams of 3 are now assigned two sections. Bar service almost not existent! Long wait times after checking in on Hub!!! ( hub disconnected continuously ,difficultly knowing when table was ready) Dining room half empty,although wait times 90 to 100 minutes due to lack of staff Carnival needs to do better These people are only human! Food disappointing! Gluten free primarily meant eliminating such as plain dry meat no gravy or sauce etc

Dinner every night was delicious. My favorite is the shrimp gumbo

Excellent service and fast - unlike other cruises we never felt like we needed to skip dessert in order to make it to a show. Good variety throughout the week.

Great food options. Always left stuffed. Even tried a few items I had never eaten before.

Found the food lukewarm at best. The wait staff were pleasant and try to do a good job under the circumstances of being slightly understaffed.

From Hostess to entire service team we had all week upon request to all meals was outstanding!!!

The waiters seemed over-worked at the Southern Lights Dining Room, however the one we had remembered & greeted us with our names every night, which I appreciated. He also brought me iced tea automatically since the first time I ordered it on the first night, and I liked that. The food was generally under-seasoned; however, the temperatures were good.

The restaurants are the Northern lights and the Southern lights. Both have good food and great service.

Guy’s was Guy’s, great as usual. Burrito bar was nice. Pasta bar for lunch was unexpectedly good. I miss the Taste bar. Coffee bar was nice. Try a coffee milkshake! Reason for 4 stars? Pig and Anchor was not that great. Too much cayenne in everything. Best dish there was the pulled pork.
