Review summary

Although the price was affordable, think twice if you are looking for a relaxing experience; you don't want to waste your vacation time waiting in lots of lines. The boat was overall pretty noisy in most of the public areas, so if that doesn't bother you, then go ahead and book.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Even though we showed up at the appointed time, there was a very long line to wait on, and it took two hours before we got past all the check-ins. The staff seemed overwhelmed and confused. It felt hectic, chaotic and rushed.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was well prepared, and the temperatures were good, but nothing knocked my socks off, except for the chocolate melting cake in the main dining room.

Northern Lights and Southern Lights Dining Rooms

4 out of 5

The waiters seemed over-worked at the Southern Lights Dining Room, however the one we had remembered & greeted us with our names every night, which I appreciated. He also brought me iced tea automatically since the first time I ordered it on the first night, and I liked that. The food was generally under-seasoned; however, the temperatures were good.

Lido Marketplace

2 out of 5

Not all the buffet tables were open at the peak of the mealtimes, which meant that long lines were created and going to a meal felt like work, and that's not what one would expect to feel while on vacation.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I enjoyed shopping in the gift shop.

Guest Services / Excursions Desk

2 out of 5

Often, there was only 1 or 2 people working at Guest Services, and they interacted with guests very slowly which easily created a waiting line if more than 2 people showed up at one time.

Tides Pool

2 out of 5

The pool is much smaller than I could have imagined. It looked crowded with 3 adults in it, but most of the time it was packed with children, and that's not appealing to a person who likes to swim.

Serenity

2 out of 5

I made it to this area on the final night. It is on the HIGHEST deck possible, above the water works area. Unfortunately, it's near the motor, so you hear a constant hum, and it's surrounded by tall plexiglass, so the view is very limited.

Internet Station

2 out of 5

Very slow to load pages. Although they said that internet would be available in the lobby 24/7, the sites available are very limited, and you cannot check your email unless you purchase one of their WiFi packages. I think that is false advertising.

Cloud 9 Spa

1 out of 5

Although they were very busy, I arrived for an information session and was told to wait in the "Relaxation Room," for a very long time. I was ignored and I missed the session, and it turned out to be only a sales pitch, and I didn't receive any free samples. I felt like they blew me off.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Some were good and others were mediocre.

Spotlight Lounge

3 out of 5

This was a pretty area, but the A/C was cranked, so bring your jackets if you go there.

Children's Programs

I travelled with my husband only.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Everyone was very polite, but there seemed to be a shortage of them at check-in and at Guest Services.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The layout was not spacious enough to accommodate all the guests. Often, I had to walk either behind or in front of my husband, and that's not relaxing when you're on vacation. Cleanliness was good, though.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The size was adequate. It was kept clean. It was quiet. Next time, I will pay more for an outside view though. I felt disconnected from the natural world, and it would have been nice to see the sky and sun.

Ship tip

Eat at odd hours to avoid the mealtime rushes, either earlier or later than you would normally eat a meal.

Ports of call

New York, New York

1 out of 5
We embarked from Manhattan Cruise Terminal. We were processed like we were cattle and forced to wait on a very long line that did not move for a very long time.

King's Wharf, Bermuda

4 out of 5
Very easy to maneuver around; it's small.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
We were required to be ready by 7:30 a.m., which is very early, in my opinion, for a vacation day. We actually did not eat breakfast, in order to be ready, and it was hectic finding an elevator and marching in the long line along with all the other cruisers.
