Review summary

Nice size cruise ship large but not overly large like the Mardi Gras. A lot of hot tubs available couple pools always something to do

The embarking was pretty quick process compared to the week before when we went on the Mardi Gras and it was nothing but confusion

They have a nice selection of sandwiches my favourite was the Buffalo chicken. It’s a must

Found the food lukewarm at best. The wait staff were pleasant and try to do a good job under the circumstances of being slightly understaffed.

We usually enjoy Cruise ships that have the thalassotherapy pool spa package the cloud nine. Unfortunately it did not stand up to its sister ship the dream. We absolutely loved it on the dream but we found on the magic that it was very worn. Such as cracked and missing tiles which were a sharp cut hazard which I ended up bringing to the attention of guest services. Also a lot of scum and mold. And after days of going back-and-forth with guest services nothing was ever done about it. So we spent $300 on the spa package for the first week and for the second week of our back to back unfortunately we were not willing to spend the money with the conditions of the area.

The dance production Staff always try to do a good job. And we found that a few of the comedians were very good.

Service and Staff

Our room steward and our dinning room staff were very good. The only reason I gave it this rating was because of the bad guest services treatment that we receive day after day to try to resolve an issue they should’ve taken care of. I wasted a lot of my vacation time trying to resolve something that never was taken care of. So sad

Ship Quality

One of our favourite ships are the dream class ships. So we really do like the layout unfortunately this ship was in pretty rough shape.

Ship tip

The magic it is one of three of the dream class ships. The layout is very user-friendly. They also have The pig and anchor and probably the most hot tubs on any cruise ship

Appreciate your detailed feedback. Sorry you had so many issues. Sorry you will miss being Diamond, but happy you have found a cruise line that fits your needs.

I know our sailing date was quite a few months back and I wasn’t gonna write a review because I considered our experience to be a very negative one. Since this cruise we have started to explore different cruise lines. And we have for the most part switched to this new cruise line. We have a couple more carnivals already planned. It’s a shame to leave carnival after all these cruises especially considering we are two cruises away from being diamond but that’s how unhappy we are. I also expressed my concerns with the carnival surveys but of course I’ve never heard anything back from Carnival
