Review summary

This was my very first cruise and I had an amazing time.  I received friendly service with a smile from every single staff member aboard the liberty . Unfortunately the food on board needs work. Some things just weren't fresh and even when it was it was just bland. It all tasted a lot like Lubys cafeteria food. I pretty much lived off of Guys Burgers . Thank goodness for that !

Needs so much work. Buffet food was inedible and a la carte was just ok.

Lol I'm sure we will find out after drydock.

I guess I'll be surprised! 😜

I saw Seafood Shack is coming soon. RUMOR: pig and anchor also coming to Liberty, but nothing on Carnival.com about it.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the fish and chips place is going away after the dry dock in December (which is too bad cause I like fish and chips!) I agree the food is only so-so, but it is also true, you don't go hungry! Our cruise is in December so haven't tried guy's yet and I'm looking forward to it.

I've been on 4 different Carnival ships, and all seem to have pretty much the same quality food... some good, some blahhh, some bad. We stopped eating in the Main Dining Rooms just because we didnt think the food was any better than the buffets, and the service was always WAY slower. On Liberty and Valor, the non-MDR choices are pretty vast.... Fish n Chips, Guys burgers, Taco Bar, Stir Fry Wok, Pizza, Hot Deli, snd Buffet... I've ALWAYS been able to find good food for each meal.... it may not be the firat try... but I've never been left hungry that is for sure!!! Yes, the steakhouse on the Liberty and Valor are AMAZING!!! Great dining expeience!! Sunshine and Victory... well, not so much... ok, but not worth the extra $35 in MHO. My only disappointment is deserts... 2 out of 10 tries is good... the rest are bland and lifeless. Thank god for good cookies and Ice cream /frozen yogurt is always available!!! And great fruit too!!! Happy cruising everyone!!! ☺

Fish and chips. Plus guys burgers was always good and hot. Not cold. Pizza was always good too. Other than that the food was delicious. Sometimes cold. I enjoyed it all. I was on the Liberty October 22 also. We had a great time. Can't wait to go back next year.

Ditto on the steakhouse! That level of food was what I was expecting all the food to be like since everyone told us the food was amazing on a cruise. The steakhouse was worth every penny...easily a $100 pp meal for $35!
