Review summary

Overall, we really enjoyed the cruise, but the food is mediocre, the late parties are annoying, and the ship is worn out. Upon leaving Barbados the ship died in the water. Power was restored fairly quickly, but the ship sat just floating for a little more than an hour. Probably time for a major overhaul or time to retire the ship.

Ship tip

Excursions are overpriced and overcrowded. Much more exciting to get a cab and make your own excursion. Seek out local island food joints for the best food. Drinks on the ship are dramatically overpriced. Drink at the local bars while docked to save some cash. $2 beers on one island we stopped at!

I had the same felling , first time cruising with carnival, 4 weeks ago the ship has serious trouble in St thomas, I just got off this last Sunday an I have to say that it was a very nice sail, very smoothly, services and crew very attentive. Guys burgers were good specially" the Ringer", the pizza also very good the 4 cheeses. .the breakfast is best at the silver dinning room, the coffee there is very good unlike the one served at the buffet and roomservice. but I loved specify coffee so 2.95 I got the perfect coffee fix. this was my in laws first cruise and they loved it, so it is a good start but for those who have experienced other cruise lines like my seat (2 RCL AND DISNEY) couldn't helped in copare everything. The only way that I would take another carnival again if the rest of my family couldn't afford a newer ship , this one it needs love and tenderness and a good overall refreshing .

all these reviews about this ship do not give me a warm cozy feeling. I am going on the Liberty on Nov 29. first time on Carnival... now getting even more freaked out! ! I never went on Carnival because of the fires.

I heard the ship is going in drydock in March for maintenance, etc...

Carnival ships do take a beating. We were on deck 8 in March. A lot of bad locations for cabins on that deck. We thought the food was Ok. You cannot get gourmet on a large ship. For the price Carnival is my first choice.

Relaxing Cruise

Mediocre experience
