Review summary
The boat is very outdated. The safety briefing was at 9:30 at night. Many people were drunk, children were asleep in parents' arms, and many others were just exhausted from their travels. Although they supposedly counted that the guests were all there, there was no way they could have seen all the people standing rows-deep in the hall. The guy in front of me was a foot taller than I am so how could they have seen me? Part of the briefing was ONLY in English, meaning a large portion of the guests who speak Spanish couldn't understand. And this was the week after the Liberty's engine had caught on fire stranding the guests that week at St. Thomas. There was a power outage for about a half hour at dinner time one night with no explanation or apology. Food was okay, but other cruise lines have better. Our stateroom was almost identical to those on other lines. The on-board activities were very minimal and not interesting. The featured singers were not good. The dancers were awesome. Overall, on-board communication was poor. I would never cruise on this line again.

I have been on 5 cruises and this is the first time I have never criticized anything before this. When the 6 o'clock dining started and we had already placed our order, lights were still out. I have no problem with that, but an apology and explanation is called for after any emergency. The last part of the safety briefing was not done in Spanish.

I've been on 9 Carnival cruises and never have had anything happen that would ruin my cruise. Some people just look for stuff to complain about. They probably left at 11 PM and 9:30 would be a good time for the safety talk. People wouldn't be on board earlier.
