Review summary
We had a great time on the Carnival Liberty for Spring Break. We are a family of 5, kids ages 14, 10, 8. We booked 2 oceanview cabins that were adjoining, it worked out great! Embarkation - went very smoothly. We arrived at the Port of Miami around 12 noon and were on the ship by 1pm. (this is with the computers down!!) Our rooms were ready, we got our luggage by 3:30pm. Cozumel: We decided not to book a shore excursion here. We got a taxi to take us over to Paradise Beach, spent a couple hours there and then headed back to the port and shopped. The kids loved Paradise Beach, fun for them, relaxing for the parents. Belize: We did book a snorkeling excursion here, however it was cancelled due to the weather. This was a real bummer as there is not much to do on your own in Belize. We did tender onto the island and the small shopping area was enclosed by a wall and fence. Evidently it was not "safe" to go out on your own. We later learned that we could have gone on an island tour with a tour guide that had a "certified" pin(or something of the sort) and been fine. Next time!! Would have liked to see more of the island. Honduras: The ship was unable to get into the Bay here as the winds were 35mph and it is a very narrow passage in. It was "unsafe". I will tell you that when this port got cancelled the Carnival Crew completely revamped the schedule adding activities for adults and kids. They even reprinted it for everyone and had it available at the desk. Kudos for making good a disappointing situation. Grand Cayman: We booked an excursion outside of Carnival. We did the Stingray Sandbar and Snorkeling. It was amazing, however rough seas made it difficult to completely enjoy it. We had a blast even if we were continually getting knocked over by the waves. Must Do!! Sea Days: We had two sea days both were fantastic. Lots to do, plenty of activities. My favorite was watching the afternoon movie out on the pool deck while the kids played in the pool. Relaxing!! The kids had a blast, they all met new friends, spent some time in the kids program, and some time just walking around with their friends. Food: The food was amazing!! Yes, there is still lobster, shrimp, steak, and most importantly escargot on the menu!! The soups are always my favorite, I had the best sweet potato soup one night! We probably ordered at minimum 3 appetizers each and our main course, then most importantly the chocolate molten cake for dessert. Service: Off the Charts.....Everyone from the cabin stewards, to the wait staff, to the towel girl went above and beyond. Even the guys cooking in the Blue Iguana or Guys Burgers would chat with you while they were preparing your meal. Fantastic!! I will cruise Carnival again, in fact we are planning on doing a Southern Caribbean with Carnival next year. Carnival is definitely "the Fun Ship". I really like that about going on a Carnival Cruise. It's not stuffy, everyone is down to earth and just wants to have fun. Even the trivia games you partnered with people you didn't know and we all had a great time! Do not hesitate to cruise Carnival....you will have fun!! Your cruise is what you make of it, remember that!Ship experiences

Ship tip
Don't miss the Juevos Rancheros at the Blue Iguana. Everyone always misses the Fish and Chips on the second floor of the buffet, it's fantastic. My favorite drink, Miami Vice!!
