Review summary

Loved it and we can’t wait to do it again. Maybe bring the adult children with us next time.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Getting to the port was easy traffic was light in Baltimore for a Saturday. I made sure we were well organized and we used the VeriFLY app. What at first seemed like chaos was actually very well controlled chaos. I think it took us 45 min from the time we parked to get onto the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining was very good. We used the Hub app to check in for my time dinning so we never had a long wait. Service in the main dinning room was always friendly and professional. Loved the guy that came by a couple of evenings and did magic tricks for us. The Carnival Lava cake did not disappoint!! We booked a special dinner in the steakhouse “Nouveau” and it was SO GOOD! (get the surf and turf). The Nouveau dinning room is so pretty especially at sunset. The buffet was pretty good. Less choices than pre-pandemic but the food was well prepared and the desserts were very good. We purchased the drink package and all my drinks were great! The Skinny Fizz was my favorite “sweet” drink. Seems they had more choices of wines offered on this cruise. I brought my beer can insulator but couldn’t use it, the beers are the tall 24oz size. (I’m not complaining 😉)

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We were literally Serenity Deck potatoes during the days at sea. Even when there weren’t 2 chairs in the Sun to sit in together there was always someplace to sit and hang out and wait until you could get a place in the sun. Everyone there was so friendly and it was a relaxing place to be. The bar tenders at the Serenity Bar are the BEST!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
At night we enjoyed most all of the comedians. Billy’s piano bar was fun. The Alchemy Bar is a fun place to hang out and listen to live music and take a deck of cards. The Brazilian couple “Artsea” that played in the Colossus Lobby in the evenings were very talented. We enjoyed the 60’s review show. The Love and Marriage Show hosted by the CD Cam was a hoot! It was all good!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I just wanna say the staff on the Legend are the best. I know they are short staffed but the positive energy from everyone I came into contact with so refreshing. Their smiles could been seen/felt even with their masks on. They work so hard to make sure that cruise ship runs smoothly. I appreciate them all so much. Our room steward Montannah was so sweet and professional. I don’t think I have ever been on a cruise and had fresh sheets on my bed every day. Again, the crew on the Legend is amazing!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I liked the layout of this ship. Our room was near the back end of the ship (6242) and it was convenient to the Unicorn Cafe and the Serenity Lounge. The public bathrooms were always clean and stocked. Public areas were well maintained. That crew stays on top of things.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

Beautiful port. Beware though, we used a credit card that we have not used in months there at 2 different places and got contacted by the credit card company when we got home it had been compromised by someone trying to use it at a liquor store in NY. No excursions, just hiked to the Sky Bar for drinks and the view.

Grand Turk Island

Margaritaville Grand Turk, it’s a party! We had a great day there. Bathroom’s are super clean.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We didn’t arrive to Baltimore until I think 6AM and I think it was maybe 9AM before they started disembarking. We were in one of the later groups to be called but off the ship and in our vehicle by 11:30AM. First cruise ever that they didn’t have everybody off the ship by like 8:30AM. I didn’t mind the late disembarkation.
