Review summary

Overall, it was a wonderful trip! After not being able to travel for more than 2 years, it was nice to be able to drive to the port and hop on the boat! Parking at the terminal in Baltimore was easy! My only negative comment would be the lack of mask wearing in indoor areas on the ship. By my observation only about 10-15% of the guests wore masks onboard the ship.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Process was quicker than in pre-pandemic times. I was concerned by the low number of passengers wearing masks in the terminal. Carnival website states all guests must wear a mask during the embarkation process. Carnival staff failed to enforce their own policy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Loved the variety that was available. However, the quality of the breakfast items was hit or miss.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Durig our trip we used the pool, played mini-golf, had spa treatments, played Bingo and Deal or No Deal, attended the musical shows and comedy shows in the evening

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Comedians were pretty good. Singers were so so

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Despite the staffing shortages that have been well publicized, we didn't have any issues receiving service. The staff were attentive and friendly! We received excellent service!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
For an older ship, I was impressed at how beautiful the ship was! It's obvious it has been well maintained throughout the years. Common areas were frequently cleaned throughout the day.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our Balcony room had more than enough space for 2 people. It was nice to have a balcony to relax and enjoy some private time away from the masses. Even though were in the front of the ship, we didn't experience any discomfort from the rocking of the ship.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Leaving the ship took longer than boarding the ship. Exiting the ship is based on your status with Carnival and group you are in. We actually disembarked earlier than was communicated to us by the crew. So we were happy about that! I would tell anyone to be patient and your time will come!

Thanks for the review.

Enforcing the mask rule has become difficult for port staff or on board crew. There is nothing they can do when someone refuses. Glad you enjoyed your cruise, otherwise.
