Overall, I enjoyed the cruise. I will cruise on Legend again, but I will choose a different itinerary and deck location.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
The prior cruise arrived to Baltimore late. Our ride had to drop us off a block away from the port’s entrance.
Once we made it to the port, embarkation was quick and easy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Everything I tried was very tasty and well prepared.
Zero complaints. There was plenty to eat and enough variety to satisfy my appetite.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
I used the fitness center daily. The attendants kept the fitness center clean and well stocked with clean towels.
Most of the machines are old and rusty. Some were out of order. Most days, the fitness center wasn’t crowded which allowed guests to socially distance while exercising.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
A few Carnival entertainment options are on hiatus due to the pandemic. No Lip Sync Battle, Hairy Man contest, etc.
The cruise had 2 Playlist Productions - Epic Rock and The Brits, 2 variety shows, 4 comedians, the Love and Marriage show, The Showdown, and plenty of trivia, live performances and karaoke.
Epic Rock is a must-see.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Great service in the dining room, buffets and bars.
Great entertainment and guest services staff.
I had an issue with noise in first cabin (1st floor) that was quickly resolved by guest services.
Room steward in second cabin (5th floor) needs improvement.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
I’ve been on other Spirit class ships, so I found the ship easy to maneuver.
Legend is an older ship that recently gone through dry dock. More attention should have been given to replacing dinged and damaged furniture, fixtures and equipment throughout the ship.
The ship had plenty of hand sanitizing stations and disinfectant wipes. Compared to my recent cruise on Miracle, the common areas weren’t cleaned as frequently as Miracle.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
1129 was my original cabin. The bed was super comfortable. It gets noisy in the cabin because it’s under the Legends’ Cafe. Only book this cabin if you’re a heavy sleeper.
We were transferred to 5191. Not as noisy but the cabin shows it age.
Ship tip
Pack a fan. In my opinion, the cabins were too warm.
I did the Charms and Beauty of Nassau and Paradise Island. I found the excursion to be quite boring. We stopped at a rum cake factory (not on the itinerary), a closed fort and John Watlings Distillery.
Freeport isn’t one of my favorite ports. If you don’t have an excursion, the port is only good for stretching your legs and grabbing a drink at Senor Frogs.
Disembarkation was great. Out of my cabin at 8:45 AM, home by 10:15 AM.
The Port of Baltimore always does a great job getting you quickly through immigration.
Thanks for the review. Picking a cabin location with other cabins above, below and around it is important to reduce the chance of noise. The Bahamas or Bermuda are the primary locations a cruise from Baltimore of 7 days or less can visit.
