Being loyal to Royal and this being our first Carnival Cruise was something to get used to. The ship was hard to navigate And get used to. the food Was okay nothing really great. The ship was clean and the attendance and Personnel were great dealing with. The ports of call, we have never been to before except Cozumel my favorite Port but each one had its own character and was fun to be around.

Not really a buffet as stated. No flow to it. Only small sections and only 1 for hot food.no original food. Same as served in main dining room. So if you did not like what was served there you was SOOL. Nothing for kids to eat(hot dogs, hamburgers), which we did not bring just listening to other passengers. Opens and closes at weird times. Pizza pirate is 24 hours and is really good. Guys burgers was good if you can find it open. The deli made great sandwhiches which were premade and warmed as you ordered. It was always packed. Blue iguana was also good but its selection is slim. The free ice cream cant be beat. The Sushi place stays open longer than the buffet.

Lots of 80s trivia. Comedy club was a riot. Renew vows on valentines day. Scavenger hunt. CLUE. kept everyone entertained.

Our cabin steward and main dining people were awesome. Only problem we had was with guest services over lost luggage. After ship had already left port we was told it would appear. We didnt even know if it had even made it onboard and all we was told was it would be there. Took 2 days to be "found" even though the room tag was clearly on there. The smug little attitude of guest services made me want to punch her. For those 2 days all I heard was it will be there. Why did it take 2 days and how many rooms did it accidentally go to.

I give it a 3 for the cleanliness. But was grouped with ship layout otherwise a 5 for cleanliness. They kept the ship clean and sanitized. Everyday railings were wiped down with soapy water with bleach. Floors were steam cleaned. Everything was wiped down after passenger left. Now ship layout was extremely messed up. No clear path from front to rear in lower sections. Had to go up a few levels just to go back down to get where you wanted to go. Day of emarkation if you went to lower levels you was stuck in elevator room. Had to walk thru passenger hallway to get to firebird lounge.
Cabin / Stateroom

We was actually in cabin 5265 not one listed in review. Tv is small and was very dark and they disabled the menu so we could not increase the brightness. The safe could only be unlocked by card that locked it. Room was very clean always. Balcony was small but served its purpose. Bathroom and shower were also small but served its purpose. Otherwise room was acceptable and clean for what we use it for. Sleeping and showering
Ship tip
If you bring your 12pk pop bring it as carry on and not check luggage no matter what security tells you before you enter. As it will be confiscated if you use check option which security guard at terminal entrance made us do.
I cannot stress enough about how great Cozumel is. It is my favorite port. We did Casa Del Mar Latino An all inclusive adult only Resort, and we're the only two there. The resort was amazing. The food was superb the drinks were awesome the staff I cannot say anything bad about they were great. They took care of anything we needed. The pool was crystal clear and all you had to do was go down a couple steps into the ocean. And it was only a half mile from our port.
Did the wildlife boat tour up the Belize River was okay. Did not see much Wildlife except for a manatee. Some iguanas and a monkey. Dolphins did Chase our boat and jump in our wake which was pretty cool. Going out of the port is a little dicey. Be aware of your surroundings and the people around you at all times.
We did relax on the beach. Attendants were really great. They took care of any needs that you needed. Food was average. Although a bit pricey. Water was clear and warm when you got used to it. Do not go to coxen hole. As it is that a hole.
Thanks we travel on several lines but do prefer Royal. We know the itinerary we are looking for and dates we want to travel etc. so choose the line that suits us best. Being older and husband has a hard time walking without a cane we kind of stay away from Carnival as they usually have more children.
