We absolutely loved this itinerary! So much so we want to do these ports again! We would even take the Legend again but stay on a different deck. Even though we really didn't enjoy the port of Tampa. It wasn't the getting on it was mainly the disembarking. So I think we would have a better plan and I think we would contemplate going through there again.
Embarkation

Going from car, to terminal, to ship was easy breezy!! Definitely enjoyed the organization of the waiting area.

Food and Dining

I can't express how much we absolutely loved our wait staff!! They were so personal, attentive, and full of positivity! As far as the food goes, it was delicious! I even tried the escargot which I fell in love with. We even tried the seaday brunch for our first time and trust me, we went back!
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
This was our second cruise and with more sea days, we wanted to try some new things. We found trivia and got a little hooked. DJ Dean "hotter than the Trinidad sun!!" made it so much fun!! We even won our first ship on a stick and a pair of dingies on stringies🤣 Then we played BINGO a couple of times, which was more energetic than your regular game. So definitely a good time! We also did the casino. Well, actually my partner played and I drank but she won!! Also, participated in their second chance scratch off drawing and won there too!
Entertainment

Went to my first deck party (last cruise, kid had me at the slides) it was SO much fun!!! Definitely going to have to do that again! Only went to 1 comedy show but it was good. Also, went to the big final show of their Lip Sync Battle. So glad we didn't miss that. It was AMAZING!!!! Frankie definitely keeps the fun going!
Children's Programs

This was the first time our kid liked the program and didn't want to leave. The kids program is actually why we went to the Lip Sync Battle show. They let the kids get up on stage and do an act! It was so cute!!
Service and Staff

We absolutely loved so many people who worked on this ship!! I known won't spell their names right but...Mary Rose the photographer did pretty much all of our photos! She is so talented and so full of personality and energy! Bryan, Dogu, and Manoj were the best wait staff ever! We looked forward to seeing them every day! DJ Dean was just a genuinely great guy! Frankie "the tank" our fun director was so fun we made a build a bear and named him after him! Milan was my main bar man in the casino. Very nice guy who makes good drinks! Sounds wonderful right!? So why not the 5 stars!? Well, our room steward was sadly nothing like we had experienced before. Our last 1 his name was Wayne, he was very friendly, personal, asked our kid every day what towel animal she wanted to see, and every day our room was clean and a new towel animal adorned it! This time this was not the case at all. We barely ever saw him let alone speak to him!! The 1 time I tried he blew me off! We were on a 6 day cruise with an 11yr old and she was kinda sad we only got 3 made the whole time.
Ship Quality

We were pleased with everything on the ship except with how our room was cleaned. The biggest problem, for the first 3 days our toilet wasn't touched!! We couldn't even find our room steward to say something. We had to go to the front desk!
Cabin / Stateroom

Loved the view and the size! It was our first extended balcony room. We actually spent more time in the room cause of it. The location was ok. We were below lido and you could hear chairs scooting quite often. Just didn't get that thorough cleaning of the room like it needed. Took them 3 days and us going down to guest services because we couldn't find our room steward, just to get our toilet cleaned!!
We didn't have the greatest of weather that day. When we 1st got off the boat it was cloudy and muggy. I got a picture of the Mahogany Bay sign and got my phone put away in a waterproof case right before it came a torrential downpour!! We trudged on. The people in port were very helpful at showing us where we needed to go to meet our tour guide. We booked a personal tour of the island with Roatan Snorkeling Tours. He was a local who took us to places I feel like we never would of seen with anyone else!! It was such a memorable experience! I really recommend checking them out!
We didn't do a lot in port. However, what time we spent there was enjoyable. The people were very nice. We did an excursion through Carnival that took us to Caye Caulker island and snorkeling the reef/nurse sharks. Which was one of the best experiences ever!! I would like to one day snorkel again but I need some practice. I would tho, like to find an excursion that would take us to Caye Caulker for the day. I'd love another coconut mojito and more coconut shrimp from the Lazy Lizard! I want to hang out at The Sip and Dip some more and see more of the island! I can't wait to go back for another Unbelizeable time!!
This port was just simply fun, vibrant, and inviting!! We took some photos in port before catching a cab to Nachi Cocom. Which I highly recommend!! A day pass is $59 for adults and for our 12yr old it was $45. That got us endless bar/non alcoholic drinks, seats, a palapa, a table, and a 4 course meal!! The cab ride was $17 there and $17 back. There was 4 of us. After we got done relaxing we went back to port for some shopping. All in all in was the best day ever!!
Didn't stay here. Just came, parked, and used the terminal. Which I do not recommend Port Tampa. It was a pleasurable and easy experience getting on but getting off, the workers were rude and pushy. Anyways, when we got off the ship, it was back to the car and out of there for us!
My problem here wasn't with the way the ship handled disembarking, it was the way the port handled it. The workers were very rude and pushy! Everyone who had their own luggage were being corralled down this escalator. Not only did someone pretty much fall and get something stuck in the mechanisms, but I overheard the tampa port escalator operator talk down about said person!! The same person then yelled at my stepmother when she practically fell as well!!! Then once we were off the stairs off doom, she tried to gather herself and her things. Well that was not allowed we were yelled at again to KEEP MOVING!!! Now, because of this, our group of 4 have been separated and we went through hell to get back together! Why was that such a big deal!? You see our first cruise, I had an emergency medical situation so disembarking was totally different. We didn't know we needed to have our ids, birth certificates, etc and 1 person had them in a backpack. Anyways, once together we got put with a baggage handler who plainly said he would be waiting with our stuff when we went and got the car. So, when we pull up with the car, we see my stepmom with tears in her eyes, all our things, and no luggage guy! He apparently wanted a tip before we went to get the car but never said a word! My stepmother who didn't have any cash on her was then harassed by this man!! All he had to do was wait like he said he was!!!! We didn't wait around to complain we just wanted to get on the road. We'll just think twice about going through Tampa again.
It sounds like you had a wonderful time on your cruise! Hopefully the good makes up for the bad. We are going on the Legend March 29. I think that lately no matter what terminal we are at the disembarkation process has gotten worse. Usually it is from the passengers that believe the directions that are being given over the p.a. system do not apply to them. Happy Cruising
Glad you enjoyed your cruise! We did the same cruise the week before you were on and absolutely loved it. We just have a leisurely breakfast in the dining room before disembarkation. It keeps us out of the rush. And just throw a pack of travel Lysol wipes in your luggage next time. I always have my own standard of clean too so it's nice to be able to take care of the little things without having to ask. I agree that it seemed the room stewards were spread a bit thin this cruise.
Sorry about the less than stellar parts of your adventure, but, so glad you enjoyed your cruise!🛳. Thanks for sharing your experience. We have never sailed from Tampa and all of that is valuable information.
