Review summary
First off this was my 4th cruise, 2nd on Carnival, I just took a cruise the year prior on Royal Carribean. I selected the option to have any room anywhere at the lowest price(best option really if you've cruises before otherwise choose at least a window if it's your first.) .
The room ended up being bigger than a standard room because it was turned sideways, I think it was a handicapped room but I didn't see anything designating it as such. The room being sideways(8260) meant the bed and your head end up on the wall adjacent to the hallway so every conversation was heard, every kid running down the hall was felt, and ever door left to slam shut would shake your head awake that was a terrible room. I requested a king size bed(they just push the 2 beds together) BUT THE STEWARD DID NOT DO THAT. I arrived to find the 2 beds apart. I actually arrived to a room I personally felt haven't been used in awhile the lamps were filthy I could write my name on the dust AND I DID, steward NEVER wiped them down. I found leftover items from previous room guests in bathroom which lead me to believe it was never cleaned. There was small stuff all over the bathroom floor especially in the corners but it could have easily been vacuumed out, but never was. There were hangers you get with new clothing hanging in the closet, the towels(the first set I the room) had a musky stink and were stale feeling. That bed I requested be combined, I pushed it together myself on Sunday, it took till Wednesday before the steward finally combined the bedding to make it one he had changed the sheets but kept keeping them individual even though it was obvious I wanted 1-bed not 2 next to each other. The activities were scarce and boring I've cruised before and never felt so much like I was in a money trap, example, they have an unlimited drink pass, they say it's $50(sodas) receipt indicated it was $36+cup+their tip they add. I could live with $50 BUT IT TOOK FOREVER TO GET A DRINK, I made the mistake of rembering my positive experiences on Royal Carribean and assumed they'd be here. There is a machine you can go to on Royal Carribean 24/7 with a huge selection of drinks to fill your cup BUT HERE ON THIS CRUISE you had to constantly find an open bar(their only open in shifts so 90% of the time their on the other end or somewhere your not aware of) late at night if your by the pool or relaxed in your sleep shorts YOU DONT WANT TO GO TO THE ONE BUSY BAR IN THE "CLUB," to get a drink. I never found enough places to ask for a drink so I never got close to receiving the full value of the cup. The food was terrible in some instances disgusting: last year on Royal Caribbean the food especially at dinner always impressed me being better than I expected, but here it felt like they took the buffet items from lunch and tried to reuse them. At lunch there was a brisket being served it was so so at dinner they offered a steak which I requested, it arrived and I swear it was the brisket after they dipped it in warm water to cook it further, it was disgusting, shrimp disgusting, desserts were so cheap tasting and only the regular plain cheesecake and chocolate cake seemed like a real dessert the rest was full of air, literally it was either a Jell-O version of a real desert or made with tons of whipped ingredients to make it look full like a cake or mouse but ended up tasting flat and cheap. The shows were very very lame I don't know how many times we can see just a stupid song and dance, the 80's, epic rock, a horrible magic show to lame music, a tribute to British music it was terrible terrible singers ok dancing and boring same routines repeated. The whole ship felt like a trip to the past for the price I can live with the cheap outdated decor but poor service everywhere we went, overpriced "duty free," items, boring shows, terrible food(oh yes they have 2 options for food available 24/7 a hamburger/hotdog spot and a pizza spot, even though they had the equipment to have food ready for you to grab they only made food as you requested it making huge lines, this was obviously done to save money, last year on Royal Caribbean there were tons of options and pizza was always ready but here you had to ask for a flavor then wait bout 5-8minutes then he'd ask the next person what a colossal waste of time and way to slow the free food down same with the burgers you had to ask for a burger then wait for them to cook it, there was never a shortage of people waiting they just refused to make like 6 pizzas at once to speed it up they purposefully would make one item at a time) from the beginning with the poor room cleanliness till the end when the steward left a comforter I accidentally yet obviously dropped pickle juice on still on the bed this cruise sucked, drinks were overpriced, (unlimited alcohol was $400 a person and EVERYONE in your room must buy one so for me that would have been $800-and bar tender said it was actually limited, but on days you go to shore you'd be hard pressed to drink enough alcohol to make it a value). Everything about this was terrible I will never cruise Carnival again.

Ship tip
Don't take this trip, only Cozumel is worth seeing, take Royal Carribean or something else this boat is old, food gross, activities all cost $$ and they charge you even on their own ports for food. The duty free shopping is non existent the key is that they sell items at lowest "Authorized," prices.
Ports of call
Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
