Carnival Legend

Sail date: August 14, 2011

Ship: Carnival Legend

Cabin type: Balcony

Review summary

Very clean, well kept ship, friendly staff. Lines were not often a problem and there were enough deck chairs. Great children's area. Pools were disappointingly small and tended to get crowded. Waterslide was so shallow that kids kept having to scoot themselves down it. Overall, however, a great cruise and one we would consider doing again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Could have used a variety in the salad bar - something other than iceberg lettuce, etc. But quality was fresh and readily replenished.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

My son loved the turtle farm. George Town was a lot of fun. Recommend Hammerhead's for conch and fresh seafood, and tarpon viewing off the dock.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
This shouldn't have come as a surprise to us, but Cozumel is REALLY HOT in August. That said, we still had a ball walking around San Miguel.

Belize City, Belize

Highly recommend Randy at Ecological Tours for Altun Ha trip. The site was interesting and I have never had a better guide on any shore excursion. Entertaining and enlightening.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Port area was nice. Rest of island was rougher. Not a place to explore on your own.

Pros: Variety of ports and manageable size of ship

Cons: Small pools and waterslide area
