Sail date: April 10, 2006

Ship: Carnival Legend

Cabin type: Balcony

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Review summary

The ship was very beautiful. Great layout and not difficult to figure out where you needed to be. It was extremely clean. The outside balcony rooms were very spacious (and we even had two children in the room with us!)

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The only thing that was disappointing, was that some people did not dress for dinner. I feel if they have a dress code, they should follow it.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The entertainment really seemed to be more for an older crowd. Most of the shows had music from the Sinatra era...I would have enjoyed a variety of eras to please more people. They did an evening show that included passengers, which was absolutely the best.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
My children are older and preferred to not join into the planned activities.

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

Beautiful place to visit. We hired a guy for $25 per person and he took us to the National Park, where you walk through a rainforest and can swim at the beach. The people are very friendly. The money is interesting...make sure you buy something so you can get change. You feel as though you are getting back way more money than you gave them!

Belize City, Belize

We did the cave tubing. It was fantastic..bugs were not a problem, however there are some spiders and snakes. They didn't bother anyone, though...and I am quite a freak about spiders. The guides were great. We had been to Belize before and did the snorkeling at Goff's Caye...we weren't too impressed. I did miss not snorkeling on this trip, however.

Colon, Panama

Doing on your own is very affordable. We hired a guy to drive us to all the good spots. We paid $25 per person to go to Gaton Locks, the Forts at Portabello and to a very nice beach. He stayed with us the whole time and gave us a lot of information. The city, was kind of dirty, but everyone was very friendly.
Don't Miss: The Panama Canal..Gaton Locks

Pros: The availability of the food and beverages. The amount of pools was fantastic.

Cons: The multitude of people asking if you want a drink
