Overall I had a great time on this cruise because I was with all of my girls that I've known for over 40 years and it doesn't matter where we are as long as we're all together whether our husbands are with us or not we have a great time!!!!
Embarkation

Went very smooth π. There were 12 of us ladies together aged from late 50's to early 60's that have grown up together and known one another, anywhere from elementary school to Jr. High School. We try to all get together a few months each year with one month a year doing something big and this cruise was the big one. There were a few of the roomies that had suites and had been on cruises before so we had VIP and Priority status but because we were all together EVERYONE was treated with VIP status and we had no problem getting right on the ship π.....
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

I was very disappointed in the quality of the food in the main dining room compared to what it used to be 2 years ago π§!!! In July 2 years ago I went on the four day cruise and the quality of the food was mud better AND the variety of not just your entree but the variety in your desserts was also much better. I understand they need to change the menu around here and there but it's gone downhill and if the price of cruises are gonna rise people are gonna start complaining or stop cruising π.
Onboard Activities

We went to relax and enjoy one another's company so we spent most of our time around the Serenity spa, playing Bingo, shopping or just sitting around and visiting throughout the day which was wonderful π.....
Entertainment

Piano bar and Karaoke was a blast πππππππΌπ€πΈπΉπ₯πΌ....."The Diva Show" and "The 70's & 80's Rock & Roll" show were amazing shows and I would recommend both of those to everyone. Those kids are VERY talented and amazing to watch π!!! As far as the dance club goes it was way to loud to enjoy. We tried it a couple different times because we really wanted to go dancing but it was so loud you couldn't even hear each other talk.
Service and Staff

As I said before our waiter in the main dining room was "Fantastic" as was our Steward Joanna. We were in cabin U75 on deck 6 and the cooler in our suite wasn't keeping our drinks cool at all. As a matter of fact they were staying warmer outside the cooler so while we were out playing bingo Joanna switched out the old one for a newer one that even kept our ice frozen. She went out of her way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. As far as the rest of the ship personnel wellll....you win some you lose some π!!! Some were great and some could have had a little better customer service training. You might get one answer from one employee and a totally different answer to the same question from the 2nd employee standing right next to the first employee so which one do you listen too π€......
Ship Quality

The ships design is fine as long as you get the feel of it "THE FIRST DAY" you'll be okay. The only thing I don't like and what DOESN'T make sense is the way you have to get to the Spirit dining room. It's ridiculous the way it's set up and can be VERY confusing. The ship was always clean!! I don't believe I ever saw a dirty spot ANYWHERE on the ship which I find amazing considering the size of the ship and the fact that there was over 13,000 people on it at one time. As far as the upkeep.....it is an old ship and there is a lot of maintenance work and upgrading that needs to be done to this ship. The knob on the hot water faucet in our cabin was broken which made it very hard to turn on. The electrical plug in the bathroom of my friends cabin didn't work...it's just little things like that throughout the ship that have added up that need to be repaired but that would make a BIG difference. Overall it is a nice ship though. I just wish it had more than the one small swimming pool .....
Cabin / Stateroom

Last cruise I purchased a regular ocean view cabin but this time my roomie and I decided to get the ocean view balcony suite and I couldn't have been happier. The bathroom was twice the size of the others with a jacuzzi tub/shower, a walk in closet with availability to hang clothes on both sides with 3 drawers beneath each. The room has two full size beds with 2 nightstands & lamps, a LARGE dressing table with four large drawers & a footstool to sit on while getting ready. All different kinds of cubbies, shelves and compartments for storage, a fold out couch , chair and coffee table. To me it was WELL worth spending the extra $400 simply for the comfort and the extra amount of room. Next cruise I go on I'll definitely purchase the suite again.
Ship tip
Take as little as possible because you won't use half of what you take and participate in and see as many things as you can and have a GREAT time π.......
Didn't get off the ship in Ensenada this trip but I noticed they changed ports. It's not the same port as it was last time where you could purchase items at the port at the little stores right as you get off the ship.
