Review summary

Other then Carnival not having any solutions or sympathy for the obstructed room view, especially with this being our 3rd cruise with them, the rest of the cruise was very enjoyable.

All good until we entered our room after we were at sea. Booked via Marriott ocean view room, received an obstructed view room. Carnival unwilling to assist or offer any solutions.

The Family Harbor Deluxe Oceanview would have been great if our window wasn't completely blocked by a mechanical equipment outside the window. If you book direct with Carnival it shows as obstructed, but not when you book with Marriott. Beware.

Ship tip

The additional costs of Family Harbor are not worth it. Save the $ & get a regular room.

As a world traveler before I retired , Marriott rooms went Down Hill ! So booking with carnival probably did the same , if you book with an outside vendor , you take a chance always on getting something that is not what you want . You have to book directly with the source ! Then if it is not right , then you can argue the point , of it not being right

Glad you enjoyed other than your cabin. One cabin category you can now delete from your booking choices. Obstructed view is a good price in that category for this reason.

To be far, your cabin issue is with Marriott and not Carnival since that’s how you booked. Glad you enjoyed otherwise.
