Review summary

As always all of the staff was courageous and helpful have no complaints there. However, the Carnival cutbacks are becoming a bit much. To the point they are taking that feeling of feeling special out of cruising. The menu in the main dining room has been noticeably cheapened. The portions are smaller and now you have to pay for a third entree. They now charge for room service even if it only coffee. Turn down service has been eliminated. Also too many elevators were shut down at the same time for the purpose of moving luggage. I personally would prefer to spend a little more for the cruise. Give me back the perks

Just because all the food you could eat was done in the past doesn't mean it had true value. Why waste food for the heck of it? 3 or more entrees for free? Really? No one starves on cruises. There's always something to eat. Spread it out!

I hear ya brother. It used to be just more special. Everyone is cutting back. Sad

bienfang10     11 months ago

On the Celebration, with that many people, it takes at least 24 hours, to spread out everybody thru out ship.

Interesting summary in saying you’d be willing to pay a bit more for the less cheapened experience but you didn’t like paying a la cart for additional entrees or room service.

Agree about shutting down elevators on embarkation day. I think it is because they are trying to turn and burn the ship quickly for the next voyage. We got disembarkation instructions 2 days before disembarkation. Felt like the last day of the cruise your forgotten and you are already getting booted off the ship

How many entrees do people eat during one meal?!?! The excessive food waste is one of the things driving these changes.

This is becoming a trend, less service, higher costs..

As far as elimination of turn down services,in itself no big deal. I just pointed it out because it was one of the things that add to the special feel you used to get cruising. Like the mint on the pillow.

Wasn’t talking about changing for third entree as part of the cheapness in the menus. The variety on the menu was what I was referring to. The extra charge ford third entree was just an additional change I was referring to as part of the cut backs.

Less services, more money... That seems to be tge trend in the cruising world

Thanks for sharing. Although I agree on most of your concerns about cutbacks, charging for a 3rd entree is not on my cheapness radar as excessive.

I’m sure all cruise lines are cutting back on some things. They all lost money because of COVID and COVID really never went away. When you said no more turn down service are you just talking about the bed if they don’t clean the cabin anymore. If just the bed, that’s nothing.
