Horizon is a beautiful ship. So many activities and different food choices. Movies under the stars were a hit for our boys. Sports square was a favorite.
Service was above standard but sometimes you could be left waiting at the bar for a drink or in line for a long time at guest services.
A couple games in the arcade were down. Only 1 ticket counter worked.
Found a cruising duck. Yay!
Cleanliness was A+. Friendliness was A+. Talent and entertainment was an A.
Wish the sky ride and sky course was open for longer hours. Get in line early.
Not holding the port changes against them too much. Weird times call for weird solutions I suppose. Hope to make it to Jamaica still someday.
Overall a great family vacation. We are grateful for sun, good food, and quality time with our family. βοΈπΉπ¦πΊππ

Smooth, quick. Elevator access for stroller.
Tip. Don't let your 10 year old try to bring a squirt gun. Will be thrown away.
Ship experiences

MDR was good. They made a great attempt at being quick for our sake since we have an impatient 2 year old.
Buffets were decent. Some meals better than others. Hit or miss but so much food on the ship, we never went hungry.

Lido Marketplace

Kind of a typical buffet. Hit or miss. Had some good items. Not too long of lines since there are so many on board food options.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
So much to do. We enjoyed the water park, arcade, movies under the stars, basketball course, sports square.
So much we didn't do! Sky ride, sky course, 4D movies, comedy shows, musicals, live music.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Live music. Shows every night. Comedians. Magicians for the kids.
We didn't even get a chance to do much on the entertainment side.
Children's Programs

3 just because my 10 year old is a prude about kids club and we haven't sent my 2 year old yet. He made friends a lot by going to sports square and asking kids if they wanted to play games.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
The staff on carnival are always amazing. Ketut took great care of us as our stew. Someone is always cleaning everywhere we look. Staff are always saying good morning or trying to interact with you and the kids.
We were given free drinks while playing at the casino but we never even got to use it because it took so long to get service sitting at a machine. Spent more money trying to get a free drink than we would have just using the bar.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
This ship is choppy compared to the older ships but is still beautiful of course. Updated design.
Wear and tear is normal, but noticed. Staff are always cleaning.
Elevators could become backed up at certain times, to be expected.
Cabin / Stateroom

Love the location in regards to Lido deck. Beautiful room. Loved having a balcony. Standard bathroom. Came with an upper Pullman and couch bed.
Negative- location under lido was very loud. Constant rolling sound from above. We dealt with it bc we make the best of any situation but was very loud and woke us and the kids sometimes.
Ship tip
Check what you are under! Is your priority location? Quiet? Spaciousness?
Our port was switched to Nassau. Unless you have an excursion booked this port is pretty much just shopping. There is a beach a little ways down that you can walk to from port.
Our port was switched last minute due to the virus. Instead of Jamaica we were sent to Amber cove. It was very rainy and we only walked around for a moment before taking the kids back to the ship.
We use FTTF when expecting tenders.
Gathered in the liquid lounge at 7:15. Off by 8-8:15 due to waiting for elevators and the line to get through customs. Customs checked our enhanced ID's/birth certs. Didn't even check our luggage and we were done.
