Review summary

great port, disappointing staff and customer service. Boat is average. Food on buffet and dining room is very poor, and i'm talking about basic stuff, such as getting butter with your bread and getting what you ordered. Do your self a favor and book with someone other than Carnival. Even loyal Carnival customers were disappointed in the customer service and the ship.

Food and Dining

Buffet on the lido deck was terrible. It did not matter if you were there for dinner, lunch or breakfast, they only used 1/2 the buffet and the food was re-heated and dried out, no matter what it was. Additionally, the staff did not use safe food handling and preparation procedures. Multiple times, The tables in the buffet were never cleaned, dirty plates would sit for hours.

Nice place to hangout, the smaller buffet was slightly better than the lido deck. Also there was many obstructed seats and the HVAC was dripping from the ceiling.

There was a variety of entertainment, but a number of the lounges have a huge number of obstructed view seating. The electric violins were really good.

The smoke from the casino down the hall filters to the lounge and the smell is terrible. Also there was many obstructed seats and the HVAC was dripping from the ceiling.

overall the staff took no pride in their work or in the ship. Spills were left on the floors for a day or more multiple times throughout the cruise. Unless you were drinking alcohol getting a drink would take 20 plus minutes, there was an overall feeling that the boat was understaffed.

Ship Quality

ship is really chopped up. you can only get from front to end of ship on 2 floors of the ship. The smoke from the casino is really bad, even when you 1st board the boat. there was leaking water from what i think was the air conditioning system in many of the lounges and in the buffet area, you had to either pick a non wet table or have a bunch of napkins to soak up the water. Dirty plates and cups were everywhere on the ship and just overlooked by the staff, throughout the cruise.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was normal, the cove balcony was nice, but we were told you would be able to open up the balconies to our other families balcony, but it was only able to do so for 2 cabins. Also our shower would not drain on day 5 of the 8 day cruise it was finally fixed. Our room attended did not clean our room well. our balcony door had a sunscreen smudge on it and it was never cleaned also our balcony was never cleaned, even when they said they were cleaning them.

Ship tip

When using the elevators, you need to touch the floor you want to go to the number of times that you have people, i.e. 6 people, touch the floor 6 times. This stops the elevator from being overcrowded.

Ports of call

Grand Turk Island

Great Port. Did the dune buggy excursion, it was a great combination of city streets and off roading, A great way to see the island.

La Romana, Dominican Republic

Excellent port. We did the monkeyland excursion, wonderful experience and facility. great for all ages. Wonderful interactions with the monkey, very organized and excellent customer service.

Mac from Safari tours was excellent. We saw all sides of the island and was a great off mix of off road rocky roads and seeing all the sites of the island.

Disembarkation

the facial recognition disembarkation was great and efficient. but there was no organization once outside the terminal and trying to get the rental car shuttle took 45 mins and there was no organization
