We enjoyed the cruise emmensely. Three of the islands were wonderful. We didn't care for the ship itself. The crew was fantastic.

The food was fantastic. We ate at the early seating (6 PM). The wait staff was polite and right there to fill your water glass or get you another drink. We didn't eat at any of the specialty restaurants. We did the buffet for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast has an omelette station (a must do).

Great variety of buffet for breakfast and lunch. There is an omelette station that is fantastic. The omelette station also cooks eggs to order.

We did the pools and hot tubs. This was disappointing because although the ship holds more passengers than the other ships the pool areas are smaller than the smaller ships. There are fewer hot tubs. We went to a lot of the trivia contests. They were fun.

The pool is small. The hot tubs were packed. The deck area is smaller on this ship than on the Carnival Magic.
Entertainment

The main stage show didn't happen because of the death of a performer. The comedy shows we saw were the PG shows. They were good but we couldn't get into the later shows because the line was ridiculous. You would have to line up an hour before the show. The Limelight Lounge was very small for the number of passengers. We saw a magic show, which was good, but we had to stand for the whole show. The electric violins in the Atrium were very good.

The service we received was fantastic. The room steward greeted us every day by name. We asked for ice and he provided it every day. The wait staff was excellent. They were attentive, charming, and very efficient.
Ship Quality

We will not be cruising on the Carnival Horizon again. Most public areas are the same size or smaller than the same areas on smaller ships. The pool in the back of the ship is small and there wasn't enough room for many lounge chairs. A lot of the added space in the public areas is taken up by the specialty restaurants. The ship was very clean.
Cabin / Stateroom

The configuration of the two twin sized beds was different from any other ship we have been on. Instead of each bed being against the wall and the nightstands together in the middle, the nightstands were against the wall. This left two tiny walkways by each bed. There is also a lot less closet space to unpack your clothes. The beds are quite comfortable and the room was very clean.
Ship tip
If you want to see the comedians at the R rated shows, get there an hour before the show and be prepared to wait in line.
There was a Facebook page for the cruise. Many people advised not getting off here. The port was in a very secluded spot. Unless you were going on an excursion, there was nothing to do unless you took a taxi.
We got off the ship and walked around. They handout maps on the pier so you can walk to different places. The island is very beautiful, clean, and friendly.
