This was our first cruise, and had so much fun! Cooking the Cruise Director was high energy and hilarious, Paul our Steward was always helpful, he always stopped to say hi and asked how we were doing. We will be going on more cruises with Carnival.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Went smoother than expected our room was ready by 130p, we were supposed to leave New Orleans at 330p but for some reason we didn't leave until 630p. But that didn't stop the fun or effect our cruise at all.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
My husband preferred eating dinner at the Lido buffet, we only ate in the main dining room for elegant nights. I loved the Pizza at the Pizza Pirate, so I usually hit that up or other nearby restaurants why he stood in line.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We didn't do too many activities, my husband used the fitness center on a daily basis. I used the outdoor track a few times we had unusual high winds so was hard to run against the wind. Loved Senerity but wish Camp Ocean wasn't put right next to it.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We loved the entertainment! Our favorite was the adult only comedy shows.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Paul our Steward was amazing!! Friendly, funny, and knowledgeable.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship was always clean, had some rust areas that is expected.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Our first day our refrigerator wasn't working, Paul our Steward got us a new one by the next morning which was fine with us. Our room was kept clean, and cute little towel animals were left on our bed daily
Ship tip
If you don't smoke or if smoke bothers you don't walk on deck 5 thru the casino.
Grand Cayman was gorgeous! But our excursion (Stingray City) got cancelled because of the choppy water, so we did a snorkeling excursion which was fun but we felt rushed. A security officer recommended a food place, it wasn't great but it was local.
Loved Mexico! Going to Tulum has always been a dream of mine, I love learning about history where it actually happened. But I will never go on that ferry from Cozumel to Playa de Carman again, I don't ever get motion sickness that was the first time ever that I did. I didn't want to get back on the ferry to go back to Cozumel I was literally terrified. Thankfully we booked this excursion with Carnival because we were an hour late getting back to port.
Love, love, love Jamaica! This was our first time here didn't want to leave. We swam with the dolphins and got in the water with stingrays. Yes some of the locals can be pushy but hey that's their way of living and that didn't bother us.
Where do I start... if the passengers would of did what was requested by Cookie (Cruise Director) it would of went great. Everyone was called down by deck number by who had luggage/who didn't. Passengers were told not to stand in common areas, near elevators etc. Our deck was called to come to the 3rd floor only if we had every piece of our luggage with us. We couldn't even get near the elevators because everyone was standing around waiting to be called, so we dragged everything down the stairs. People who didn't have their luggage was trying to leave the ship only to be stopped having the line held up and being sent back. Still giving this 5 stars because the ship has a great process, now only if the passengers would follow the instructions.
