Review summary

Overall it was a great cruise, we would just rather have a more laid back experience next time!

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Seemed a tad unorganized.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Everything was great besides the buffet. Exceptional service and good food.

Lido Marketplace

2 out of 5

Eggs on buffet were ice cold.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Only saw one show but it was terrific. We really enjoyed the piano bar! Keith was funny and talented.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
They seemed a little overwhelmed the first night but that’s to be expected. Besides that they went above and beyond to make sure that we had a great vacation!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship could use some updates. We had a bar poking out of our lamp & there was a constant humming outside our room.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We heard a constant humming, the lamp had a sharp object pointing out & we were in the midst of a noisy area.

Ship tip

Check for large groups sailing together, it seemed to be really party focused.

The name CARNIVAL says it all. Its a round the clock party. They are known as The Fun Ships. They are also the least expensive cruise line. That's why I always book a balcony to get away from it all. There are also many areas throughout the ship to go to get away from the crowds. However if you are looking for a more conservative upscale crowd there is Princess, Costa, MSC, Holland America. I've been with Carnival 25 years because the balconies are affordable which allows me the best of both worlds, join the fray or get away. ;)

Princess and Royal Caribbean tend to have more laid back and relaxing cruises than Carnival!
