Review summary

The cruise was good - my only complaint was the cleanliness of the ship. I know that the ship should have been cleaner than that. Otherwise the entertainment , shows, food and staff were all good

Embarkation

Well I am a VIP Platinum level guest with Carnival; there was no priority given to Platinum level guest; had to wait in lines like everyone else.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was good - I have no complaints in this department

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Onboard activities great - there was plenty for you to do

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I only gave 4 stars because the DJ was ok, but on other Carnival ships the DJ really rocks the crowd and this one wasn't so hot. However, the other entertainment shows, comedy, etc was excellent!!!

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The service wasn't bad but it was above average either. The staff was just ok - not very attentive. We were a group of 27 and several individuals had issues with their room stewards.

Ship Quality

This was the worst ship I have been on. Very dirty - public bathrooms nasty and smelled of urine. My cabin floors were dirty both carpet and bathroom - I requested them to come clean them up. They cleaned the carpet but not the bathroom - you get so tired of going to battle with these people I just cleaned it up myself. My bed had stained sheets; lampshades look like they hadn't been dusted in years and they were stained. Thank goodness I brought my own Lysol wipes and cleaned down the entire room. This is the worst I have seen it and I have been on other older ships and at least they were very clean. This one was very disappointing in that area

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was very comfortable and laid out well - however, it was missing a chair. I had a table and no chair. The worst is it wasn't clean -which is my biggest concern. They are not cleaning those cabins the way they should for each cruise. I have been on 27 cruises and this ship was the worst I have every been on.

Ship tip

Make sure your cabin is clean - that is the only issue I had with this ship as well as public bathrooms not being cleaned often.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

Can't say enough - I did an amazing tour with The Lousiana Touring Company. It was a city highlight and Katrina tour. It was excellent -the tour guide was very knowledgeable. This tour was actually conducted by the same transportation company who picked our group up "Alert Transportation". They are excellent - I will keep them in my book because they really were exceptional.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

This was the worst port ever - there is absolutely nothing there. We went on a tour and didn't see anything but a lot of garbage, shacks and bugs (flies). When we got back to the boat it was infested with flies in the buffet and all over the ship. I seen a table on the Lido deck and it had at least 50 flies on it. It was crazy because the ship crew had a hard time trying to get them out of there. Bad bad bad - do not get off the ship. Make this a spa day

Belize City, Belize

We took a very interesting tour here and it was very good. I have been to Belize before but our tour guide was so knowledgable and good; it made this tour even better. Actually the last time I was here the tour was totally different. This one was much better

Cozumel, Mexico

Love it!!! This was our best stop of course, took a great tour that was well worth the $20

Disembarkation

Very smooth - however since I have been on so many cruises I have learned a few things. Do not rush to get off the ship. Schedule your flight after 1pm so you are not running to the airport. My group actually was staying in New Orleans another day. Which gave us the opportunity to have a wonderful brunch on the ship before we headed off. When we got off about 9:15am there was no lines; we were able to walk right off the ship.
