Review summary

Overall, it was a good cruise. Because of the exceptional cruise we had last year, we were a little disappointed, especially in the food. We went to the dining room one night but weren't really impressed. Noticed that most of the foods were also offered in the dining area on the Lido deck. We did, however, really enjoy the sea day brunch. It was very good!

Embarkation

No matter when you get on the ship, none of the rooms are ready until 1:30

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We didn't think the food was as good as on the Dream - especially the desserts. Also some of the workers in Guy's Burgers and the Mexican section were not especially nice. The ice cream wasn't as creamy and good as on the Dream and a couple of stations were closed almost all of the time. However, that being said, the deli was wonderful!! Great ham & cheese, Cubans, Reubens and hot dogs.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Went to shows - the gender competition, hairy chest contest, ice sculptor, and lip sync contest. Enjoyed!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Loved Dustin, the cruise director! He was a bundle of energy. Didn't especially care for the bands and solos that played.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward, Michael and helper (I believe Kristin) were exceptional. They were very helpful and anticipated our every need. Couldn't ask for better service from either of them!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Could definitely tell that the Glory is an older ship. Lots of repairs going on especially to the deck.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was a good size - Had everything we needed. Very clean and comfortable.

Ship tip

Not up to the standards of the Dream!

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

We did not book excursions - However, we took the train to sightsee and walked to Hemingway's home. Enjoyed all of it.

Nassau, Bahamas

Did not do an excursion. Visited the straw market then got a taxi to Atlantis. Afterward, we took a taxi to see the island. Enjoyed it.

Disembarkation

Paid for FTTF - was a little disappointed that people who carried their own luggage got to debark before those who paid to debark first.

I was just leaving an honest review. Happy that your cruise was perfect! We enjoyed the cruise, but just like the Dream better. We "wasted" money on FTTF mainly b/c we had a long drive home and needed the extra time, especially when debarking.

It’s always been that way. Cruising since early nineties and whoever carried luggage off got off first. I waited to become platinum to get all the perks. Why would anyone waste money on FTTF, why are you in such a hurry to get to everything first. Relax, be patience enjoy everyday, cruise will be over before you know it.

One other thing. If you take off your luggage you ALWAYS go first. If you checked your luggage you go off early if you have FTC. Do your research.

You were on a different ship than we were. We sailed on 9/22 as well and it was an outstanding cruise. We ate in the MDR 5 out of 7 nights and loved the food. The other two nights we ate in the steakhouse. The 3 gentlemen playing the horns in the atrium were great too. My wife and I were all over the ship and never witnessed repair work. We have sailed on the Dream twice and like her very much. She is a larger and newer ship but “food and staff” are the same on both”. Love the Glory. Please sail on the Glory. You will have a wonderful time. Just go with a positive attitude.
