Would likely not do another Carnival Cruise. They are probably OK for the younger generation.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Portion sizes were OK.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Our group normally enjoys night club on our past cruises, but these didn't open until 10 - 11 o'clock at night. We had many adventures planned for the upcoming ports.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Okay. The music was normally very load and booming. Seemed like a skipping record playing all day. Same tempo and repeating.

I'm 52, but not dead yet. Carnival is the best. We have enjoyed Royal too, but even they don't have much going on after 10p. Will stick with the fun ships.

I'm 51 and when I mentioned I didn't care for Carnival I was told I would probably prefer one of the old people cruise lines "where everyone is in bed by 8:00 recharging their scooters for the next day." Nice. Carnival is not for everyone and definitely not for me, I totally see your point.

Fishfever: Our preference for relaxation and service over excitement has us also interested in Celebrity and the 'Dams. An option we enjoy that has both service and excitement is the RCCL ships in Freedom class and above, probably Voyager class too, we just haven't been on Voyager class yet. Interestingly, our adult children now also like ships with service over excitement even though they had a wonderful time when they were younger and our family cruises were on Carnival ships.

We are pushing toward 70 and just love Carnival. 😋😋

Maybe this crew and ship was just off the mark for this cruise only. We are all well under 60 years and will do many other cruises in our lifetime. We have had other friends that really like the Carnival cruises, but of never ventured over to other cruise lines. We just expect a happy balance of enjoyment and relaxation. I guess, you get what you pay for.

Yes, we are lucky we are only just under 60, We've got plenty more Carnival cruising years... Not quite ready for the Viking River Cruising yet... Enjoy though.
