Review summary

Even though we had crappy weather for the first 3 days and the ship was rocking for 7 days, we still enjoyed being on a cruise and away from negative temps and work. I can't wait forbthe next one already.

Embarkation

Getting on in Miami is a breeze with FTTF.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We ate at every venue on board. The MDR food and service was great. We enjoyed everything we ate there. Guys Burgers, Blue Iguana and the buffet were all amazing! Guys didn't have soggy fries and burgers like people let on to believe. The BBQ place was one of my favorite. The Emerald Steakhouse was absolutely to die for. I got the 18 oz cowboy cut that has a 5 seasoning dry rub and it was mouth watering.

BlueIguana Tequila Bar

3 out of 5

The drinks were always made good. The service at the lido bars weren't the best.

Red Sail Restaurant

5 out of 5

The buffet food was always good and fresh. The only issue was the wouldn't open on time. Everyday they were roughly 10-15 mins late to opening.

Golden Restaurant

5 out of 5

The food was excellent and the service was good.

Emerald Room Steakhouse

Top notch steaks! Its so nice to get away from the MDR and buffet commotion and enjoy a quiet meal.

BlueIguana Cantina

Food is great!

Redfrog Rum Bar

2 out of 5

Drinks were good but the service here was a joke. Always overlooked you because they have no sense of a line.

JavaBlue Café

5 out of 5

They're always good on the ships. The lady was so friendly and fast.

Cherry on Top

4 out of 5

Only got a cake for my wife's birthday.

Guy's Burger Joint

5 out of 5

Wow! This was my favorite lunch on the ship.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The pools, waterslides, mini golf, basketball/volleyball were all fun. There's also bean bag toss and ping pong tables.

Azure Lido Pool

5 out of 5

Nice that it can be covered when it rains or is chilly. Didn't like the fact that it's only for adults. Not right that only adults can swim when it's raining or cold at night.

Slide Entrance

Great slides

Camel Club Casino

Entertainment

Amber Palace Main Lounge

Top-notch shows and entertainment. My girls made isbon Hasbro the Game Show on board. They placed first and second.

The Colors Lobby

5 out of 5

We enjoyed the trivia every night after shows in the lounge.

Carnival SeasideTheater

5 out of 5

It's always nice to hangout and watch a movie up on lido.

Children's Programs

My kids elected not to go this time.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The waiters were all great and the personnel were friendly. Our Cabin Steward, Putu, was out of this world. He was always on point and friendly. We were located on deck 7 aft.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We had no issues with any cleanliness. It's designed like every other Carnival ship. Remember when going from forward to aft, always use Promanade to cut thru. Besides the cabin floors, Promanade is the only deck that goes the length of the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had 4 in this cabin and whilebthey are smaller..it served it's purpose for sleeping and getting ready.

Ship tip

Use Promanade deck when going from one end to the other inside the ship.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
We didn't do any excursions. This port has always been one of my favorite places. Best beach day with amazing bbq food served by the cruise line. Unfortunetly the weather wasn't the greatest when we were there.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Wow! I fell in the love with the people and island. We were the first Carnival cruise back here and I'm so glad we got to go. There is still some damage but FEMA is doing a great job according to the locals. Megan's Bay was surreal. Cab rise there was $8 each way per person but worth every penny when they take you up the mountain to give you an aerial view of the beach thats rated in the top 10 in the world.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
San Juan was awesome. We decided to dedicate this day for a quick lesson in history and culture. The forts were so worth it. Just like a lot of ports, they hound you for excursions once walking out of the port. Castillo San Felipe del Morro was so cool. We also went to the bar that invented the Pina Colada.

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
We only grabbed souvenirs for my kids and got back on the ship. It's nice to enjoy the ship at ports.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Out of the room and off the ship in less than 15 mins.

You're welcome. I tried to be thorough for future cruisers and especially for first time cruisers.
