Review summary

Fantastic choice for people with kids and the ports of call on the Itinerary were great with just enough time at sea to enjoy the boat. Overall, a fantastic family vacation, our kids were the perfect age for this. The dining experience was our only disappointment.

Embarkation

Embarkation was quick and efficient. Once on board, the rooms were ready as promised. Keys were waiting for us at our stateroom as was our luggage!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The main dining room was great. Varied menu and great desserts. The main buffet was ok but long lines at peak times made the experience frustrating. The 4 buffet lineups started with the salad bar, the mains, then the soup and bread. Also, the section with the mains had such small trays that they ran out quickly and it sometimes stopped the line waiting for replacement tray. Seemed like a very inefficient way to serve 2500+ people. Meanwhile, there were cold buffets stands holding salad dressings and toppings! The only place open 24hrs was the pizza place which ended up having long lineups at peak hours as well. The ice-cream and Frozen yogurt machines were great. The burger and taco place were also good when open but always long lineups.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pool were extremely small and often crowded. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the water slide. We also enjoyed the movies on deck.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The performers were excellent however limited.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
The kids club was fantastic! I had one daughter in the Stingrays(age 8) and one in Circle C(age 12). They both made friends fast and were more than eager to go to the programming. We hardly saw them!!! The supervisors were absolutely amazing especially Celestine(aka Miss Tuna!). I would definitely say the kids club was the highlight of my kids vacation!!!

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The service was excellent! Our steward and waiters all greeted us by name and were more than accommodation. They took the time to converse with us! All personel greeted us with a smile or simple 'hello'. Made for a very welcoming experience.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our balcony cabin was excellent. Loved having the fresh air and views. Size was good and the kids thoroughly enjoyed the bunk beds and towel animals left for them! Our steward kept it very clean Perhaps a little outdated and worn but ok.

Ship tip

Download The Carnival Hub app. Very convenient to have ships activities and maps at your fingertips . Definitely a good way to keep in touch with a roaming tween/teen through the chat option.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

So many things to see and do in South beach

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

4 out of 5
Completely impressed and surprised about this port. I did not do any research about this port and we would have to say it was the best, most beautiful beach of our trip! The sand was white and soft and the water was crystal clear!! Would definitely want to return here!

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Visited Maegan's Bay. Excellent snorkelling. Great views and good shopping!

San Juan, Puerto Rico

3 out of 5
Loved old San Juan. We walked to Castillo San cristobal and around the city. Even the kids loved it! Sooo hot or else we would have done more!

Grand Turk Island

4 out of 5
The ship docks quite close to the beach so we could walk there. Lots of party people at Margaritaville. Lots of fun!

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
As scheduled. Since we were one of the late groups, we waited in the buffet area and had a late breakfast. Getting off the ship and retrieving our luggage was fairly quick.

@Bess777 The app is available on the App Store. Just search Carnival HUB. On board the ship, they tell you to put your phone on Airplane mode and access the ships Wifi. You cannot download the app while on the ship so it is suggested you do that before. Their Wifi is restricted but allows the app to work, you can access the daily schedules, maps and the chat($5/phone). Hope that helps:)

I found it at the Google store.

Did anybody find the app Carnival Hub to download? I can't find it for iPad or iPhone. I am sailing on the Glory in January 2018. I also have a question about the app. Wouldn't you have to have WIFI for it to work while on the ship?

The dining experience last year on the Glory was so so. There is always pizza & Guy burgers to hit up. We did cave tubing in Belize & we loved it.
