Review summary

His was our first cruise and we enjoyed the dinners and the pg comedy shows. We are not drinkers so having all of the alcohol around was a big turn off. Also, we really didn't like how much push there was to buy costly jewelry and watches.  Also, the smoke from the casino seemed to be prevelant in many areas since it was more in the center of the ship.   The excursions we booked were were a good experience. The wait staff and room stewards were very nice and tried really hard to know us by name.  It was challenging to figure out the ship and ended us asking our poor room steward all kinds of questions because we weren't sure who to ask and he was very nice to answer each time.

The cabin was nice but sometimes when we would go out in the balcony the people in the balconies beside us would be smoking and made it hard to enjoy the nice ocean breezeWe

We did a horseback excursion and that was fun but the horses were very small and I felt bad for them when they had to lug around larger people.

Belize City, Belize

The ruins were very interesting and the guides were very nice and shared a lot obout the country. It was a 2 hour bus ride though. It was a comfortable bus though

Cozumel, Mexico

We actually didn't even see Cozumel as we tendered to do cenote hopping and that was probably the highlight excursion of our trip.

you're in for a treat with princess @ginnyharley6!!! but royal is my overall favorite but carnival is obviously the cheapest but it's worth paying more for quality sometimes....but we can make any cruise a vacation to remember!

After being on the Glory I will agree the smoke from the casino does smell up most of that floor to the point that non-smoker may not enjoy some of the entertainment in the areas around the Casino.

If you try a higher end cruise line you may have less smoking and less drinking but it is also less fun and higher prices.   You did book on "The fun Ship" Carnival.

I am sailing on Princess Emerald in August. I have never sailed on Princess before. I have been on Royal and Carnival

maybe cruising is just not your thing lol have #8 and #9 booked and never had a bad experience cuz my wife and I can make anything fun...we have sailed carnival, royal, princess and have a Disney one booked for next year

of course there's going to be a swarm of alcohol..people are on vacation! there's going to be smoke regardless where you are on a ship because not everyone follows the rules lol I'll be on the glory in August can't wait! at least you enjoyed something... breeze is pretty awesome..check it out!

for some reason, I seems to always know where I am. I usually end up helping people find their way around. my friends and families rely on me to tell them where everything is. I literally know my way around within the first hour I get on a ship. one of the thing I noticed is that all cruiselines layout is pretty much the same, and normally the casino is in the middle because that is a waiting area during arriving, and disembark. Next time you cruise you will find it easier to navigate. Glad you had a good time.

My husband and I don't drink either so we just stay away from the main pool area during the day and we don't go to the clubs at night. We always find relaxing places to just enjoy the serenity of being at sea. We love the Adult only serenity decks! I download several books on my kindle and just unwind! I also have never felt pushed to buy anything..... I have been on 5 different Carnival ships.

Glad you had a sort of good time. However I never saw the "push" to buy anything expensive. I buy what I want. Yes there's a lot of liquor but I'm OK with that. I have 1 or 2 a day.

We have been on a fair number of cruises, we found the Victory to be a pain to navigate too (our first Carnival ship) .

I always load a deck map on my phone, so when I get turned around I can find my way back to my room lol. Advice from one of those drinkers that turn you off. 😎 🍸
