Review summary

Carnival Glory was a great ship--best thing about it was the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed the waterslide, pools, outdoor movies at night, ping pong, mini golf, and volleyball. The Cruise director and assistants did a great job--very fun and entertaining. There were always fun activities available like trivia games or fun shows like the game show. Food in the breakfast buffet was good variety. I loved the hot chocolate machine. Dining room food was okay, not the best I've had but service was good. The best food to be found was Guy Fiero's burgers--definitely a highlight and Blue Iguana Taco/Burrito bar--very good. I chose this cruise because of the port and the itinerary--awesome to have 4 different stops bookended by sea days. Only complaint is that it was very difficult to find my way around on this ship--especially the dining room. You had to go up to the 5 th floor across and then down to the 3rd to access it. Didn't get the hang of it until day 5.

I liked the room arrangement. The twin beds were perpendicular to each other which was perfect for sharing a room with my daughter. Plenty of room and storage for what we needed. Bedding was very comfortable. Loved the robes in the closet!

Ship tip

The Guy Fiero Burger stand was the best food on the ship and the Blue Iguana Taco bar.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Do an airboat tour of the Everglades to see alligators. Very fun especially if you are not from the area. South Beach was beautiful too. Spend a night at Plaza Riu--right on the beach for a good price.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Sting ray city is super cool. We didn't book it in advance but found someone selling the excursion outside the port for about half the price than from the ship. Take into consideration that if you do stingray city--through ship or not--they will take photos of you and sell those for an additional $40-$60. Have enough cash on hand if you choose to buy those. I think it's worth it because we didn't have a waterproof camera.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

You need to have an excursion booked in advance here. The street vendors that offer trips , as in other ports are really difficult to get to. They are not allowed near the port. --we wouldn't have known where to go if we hadn't had instructions from our booking. We went through Roatan Ocean Adventures--highly recommend--less crowded than ship excursion and VIP treatment.

Belize City, Belize

Cave Tubing was super crowded when we booked through the ship so that made it less fun. This is another port that is good to have something booked in advance, although there are vendors selling excursions outside the port. If you do the cave tubing you will need to get off the ship first thing--it is a lot of travel time to get there. Also,It is a long and crowded tender ride to get to the port.--Give yourself plenty of time. Belize city was surprisingly poor and dirty, more-so than any other port I've been to.

Cozumel, Mexico

This port was by far the best of any as far as port area because there was tons of shopping and entertainment without even having to get out into the city.
