Review summary

Boarding a ship in Miami is definitely long and laborious. However, having a priority embarkation makes it much easier and a more enjoyable experience. The Embarkation and Debarkation experience was great. The music throughout the ship was extremely disappointing to put it mildly. The shows were a total disappointment and their dancers and singers were the worst. If you like to gamble, but cannot handle the smoke, there is not much else going on in the evening other than on the nights they have comedy shows, which were enjoyable. I am not certain if I would try another Carnival cruise, unless it is the Breeze or possibly the new Vista.

I would have preferred a cabin a bit further away from the main elevators since the horrible music from the 3rd deck was heard in our cabin on the 7th deck.

Ship tip

Eating on the Lido deck is not enjoyable; the Mexican Cantina had good fresh shrimp tacos. If you enjoy greasy hamburgers and fries, Guy's burgers is the place to go. The Pizza is great but there is always a huge wait since they never anticipate the crowds. I would prefer the dining room.

Beautiful. We went to Maya Key via a 15 minute boat ride. Again, it was wonderful but too short of an excursion.

We did a private beach with snorkeling and the boat picked us up at the ship since we were not docked. The only negative is that the excursion was way too short. They could have extended it for at least another hour or two

The shows usually don't go over well with people who do not like them which is obviously you but comedy and karaoke are good and usually you can find things to do around the ship that are not on the Fun Times if you look hard :) The Breeze is beautiful but the same way

We were on the same cruise as you. I thought the smoke condition in the casino was greatly improved over previous cruises. There were large air filters at various locations around the casino, which helped. We went to all the shows in the Amber Palace and enjoyed them.
