Review summary

Carnival embarkation and debarkation was well organized, with lots of options, help and information available through out the process. One note: if you take booze on the boat with you, there's a limit per person, and it must be carry-on, else it gets confiscated and you may or may not be able to retrieve it during the cruise.

The boat is well designed with lots of entertainment. We did a Norwegian cruise 6 months ago and the entertainment was crap. The Carnival Glory's entertainment was far superior, with options for all kinds of people: piano bar, casino, shows with cast members that could actually sing, multiple dance events and venues,  scavenger hunts, art sales, towel animal classes, themed nights, many dining options, movies, comedy club. Always something to do. The George Lopez comedy acts were all high quality and really funny.....though the performances were too short for my liking. I would have liked a full length show opposed to 2 small ones each night from each comedian. But I am nick picking.

All the staff were great. The cleaning staff were especially attentive, remembering my name almost immediately, and being really good about not trying to come in our room while we were there. Very observant and thoughtful.

The ports were all great. Carnival has made some private ports with vendors to make the experience great from the moment you get off the boat. It's cool, but you need to book excursions if you really want to see the place properly. If you do this cruise, make sure you take a good amount of cash on each excursion. Snacks, souvenirs and tips can only be in cash a lot of the time. I felt bad in Belize. The Mayan ruins excursion was amazing, and I wanted to tip, especially because everyone is so poor and the place is so run down everywhere, but didn't have the cash and it's hard to find ATMs there.

All in all, had an awesome time and I would book this exact cruise again right now if I could, and do it all again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Great options most of the day. Felt the food closed down early though, and there weren't many options in the afternoons. Just burgers.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Lots to do on board. Some organized stuff, and lots of freedom to wing it too.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Great singers and comedians. Lots of dance options, as well as casino and other stuff.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
No opinion. Don't have kids so don't know.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff were personable and learned my name.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Decor in rooms a bit run down, but everything is clean, well maintained and comfortable.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Room is great if you like total darkness when sleeping. We loved it. We were in the cheapest rooms. The window rooms are larger. We chose no window as we like spending all our time on the deck, not in the room. So worth the savings.

Ship tip

Fish n chips upstairs Lido deck is awesome. Morning tacos are great opposed to lining up for 'normal' breakfast...also on Lido deck outside. Take lots of cash for excursions. There's few ATMs on shore at the destinations and the exchange rates and fees aren't great. All destinations take US $.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
Seaquarium Miami. Fun day out. Small but really nice venue. Great shows.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Stingray City excursion.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
Zip lining and private beach excursion.

Belize City, Belize

5 out of 5
Altun-Ha Mayan ruins excursion.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Private resort. The port is full of over-priced stuff you get by in US most places cheaper.
