Review summary
the cruise was good. my complaint is the recent policy change concerning smoking on the balconies. we specifically request & spend more money to get the balcony room so that we can smoke without disturbing others. now Carnival says that they are changing the policy so that there is no smoking on the balconies. if your outside what does it really matter? regardless I think Carnival just lost our business. this new policy change is unreasonable. there must be some compromise. perhaps when booking if you smoke, they could put those on one side of the ship, or on the upper level balconies... there must be some way. but until they change we will not sail with carnival. very disappointed.

Most lines have no smoking on balconies. The majority of people do not smoke. The smokers on balconies ruin balconies for all the nonsmokers that pay extra for fresh air. All ships have designated smoking areas. HAL still allows smoking on balconies.
If the cruise was good, it is not fair only giving 1 star just because you had to go to the smoking area and not your balcony.
