Review summary
We booked "last minute" - 30 days prior to sailing. Ship and wait service were great. Entertainment and food were ok. All requests for better dining options(early vs late) and cabin re-assignments were denied. We bought the "category guarantee" thinking that we'd get a good cabin and a nicer one if the ship was not full. (The dining staff said we were about 85% full. Guest services said 100%). We got assigned the worst OV cabin on the ship - lowest deck, furtherest astern - the last cabin before entry to crew quarters! Despite calls to Carnival prior to leaving and advice from our agent as to how to request a better cabin assignment once underway, we were tersely denied. Net: Never purchase "category guarantee" if you want to have any control of where you're located, or if you want to be anywhere near the heart of the ship. And if you prefer any of the early evening activities on board, you must have the early seating for dinner. Next time, we'll book early.Ship experiences
