Loved the cruise and will do it again.
We did have one mishap. The exhaust stack on the port said caught on fire when we docked at Grand Turk. No one was in any danger and the crew handled the fire swiftly. Our trip was extended two days (at no additional charge) waiting for the Conquest to come take us home. The Conquest arrived with banners flying with "CARNIVAL FREEDOM HERE WE COME" and "WE ARE HONORED TO HAVE YOU AS OUR GUEST". The Conquest was on deck waving and dancing welcoming us.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We ate at the dining room for breakfast and dinner and it was great. The wait staff were very attentive and addressed you by your name (very impressive). We had assigned seating which gave us the same wait staff every night and they learned our preferences.
Our table mates were in our age bracket and were very interesting and friendly. So much so we were hoping to be assigned the same table when we transferred over to the Conquest.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We enjoyed the serenity (adults only) section of the cruise. They had an area in the back of the ship that had an adult pool and another are at the forward portion of the ship that had lots of chase lounges (with cushions) and some shade.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The entertainment in the theatre was very energetic and talented. It was a little past my comfort zone (we are in the mid 70's). The performers were very talented and performed well.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All the staff on the ship was excellent. Very attentive and those that served you daily called you by your name.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship and common areas were kept spotless.
The only thing I did not care for regarding the ship was that the 3rd and 4th floors did not go all the way through. There was the Chic Restaurant in the middle of the ship and you had to go up to the 5th floor in the middle and down to the 3rd or 4th floors to access the Posh restaurant. Very inconvenient.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We were offered an upgrade to a balcony and we took it. Our room number was 7422. It was perfect!. It was in the aft part of the ship close to an elevator which accessed both the Posh Restaurant and the Lido Buffet deck.
Ship tip
Download the Carnival Hub app. Carnival is trying to go paperless and everything is on that app. You can log in and request a table for breakfast and they will notify you when one is available. It will give you the table number so the staff can take you directly to it. You can also access the menu for dinner so can decide what you would like to order ahead of time. The app also includes the layout of the ship, floor by floor and all the activities going on that day. You can also access your account on the app.
The Freedom is a great ship and great staff end of March. Amazing what happened and good to hear that you felt no one was in danger. Extra days at Grand Turk would have been great! I’m sure we’d all love to see a picture of the banners on the ‘rescue ship’ Conquest. Keep positive! 🛳😎🌴
We will be going on the Carnival Freedom Early November and we are really looking forward to it! We have not been on a cruise for 20 years... we're only going to take five day cruise and see if we enjoy it again! And it's true what they say.. if you make it a positive experience you will have fun!
