Review summary

Fabulous crew and staff! Good times and memories made. Relaxing. Ship was difficult to navigate and all the common areas were crowded.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
It was quick and easy despite the warnings that it might take longer than usual due to equipment problems at the port.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Mirjana in the Posh dining room was GREAT!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pools were always overcrowded.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
This is the one thing I was most disappointed with. It was a mixed bag. The comedians were funny and good, but hard to get in to see. I love live music, but the live band, FlavorTown I think they are called, wasn't impressive, I expect better. The musicians and the male lead singer were good, but the female lead was constantly flat. We couldn't stay, and we didn't see many others stay either. There was never more than a few people around them the entire cruise. The violin trio was outstanding! I never saw the 70's night club in use for anything but art auctions. The shows in the Victoriana theatre were just OK. I've seen MUCH better from Carnival. The most fun I had was the country music trivia with Emma and the DJ.

Children's Programs

Our kids are grown.

Service and Staff

As always!

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
While the ship was clean, it was difficult to navigate. I know cruise ships have lots of stairs, but I've never seen a ship with as many stairs as the Freedom. You can't get anywhere without stairs involved. Having only 2 open decks that go end to end (5 & 9) it is always crowded. So why are they constantly being blocked up by photographers. This created a lot of bottlenecks.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It was great except it could use another electrical outlet, 1 is not enough.

Ship tip

Prepare to climb lots of stairs and find the serenity decks quickly.

Not a lot here, it's growing, you really need to take an excursion here. We went on the excursion to Chacchoban Ruins.

Beautiful stop. We went on the Zipline excursion.

Cozumel, Mexico

Good as always, we took to catamaran excursion to snorkel and the beach club.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Our disembarkation was ok because we were on deck 1 and walked off with our luggage early. Customs took FOREVER. Heard from many others that it took them a very long time to disembark.
