Review summary

I enjoyed myself for the most part but I go on vacation to rest and to get away from my hectic everyday life.

Embarkation

The traffic was TERRIBLE and we sat in one s pot for 22 minutes according to my dash clock just to be able to turn into the parking lot. Also the clerk that scanned my suitcase seized my steamer and smiled at her co-worker when I asked could I get it back. She was the same scanner that did not catch the individual that bragged about having liquor in their suitcase immediately behind me.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I only ate on the Lido twice during my entire 7-day cruise. And that was for Blue Iguana and Mongolian Wok and both were amazing. I frequented the Mongolian Wok for the first time after 4 cruises and it was awesome. My waiters Denton, Derrick and James were AMAZING and so efficient. Denton guessed what I would like each night and he was on point.

Deli

5 out of 5

I loved the staff and the food. I failed to get the name of the Asian female that serviced me but she was completely courteous and kind when I was unable to make up my mind. I want her to receive proper credit but I think her name began with a J or was Jan or something. She was extremely polite and courteous each time I visited the deli. Kudos to her and she is an asset to the Deli.

Blue Iguana Cantina

The food here was wonderful and the staff was courteous. I love the taco salad more than the fish tacos. They have a watermelon salsa that is out of this world.

Mongolian Wok

After 4 cruises, I now understand why the lines for this place are always so long. You can create your own dish with unlimited noodles and veggies. Th is is also a wonderful concept for Carnival and I am grateful for it. I love to watch the chefs operate in their crafts while cooking the various choices that people make.

Guy's Burger Joint

5 out of 5

I have never been able to eat regular burgers ever since my first Guy's Burger. Sometimes they can be a little heavy on the salt with the fries, but the burger's male up for it. Thank goodness that Carnival has the sense to have this joint on each ship. The lines are always long and that speaks volumes.

Redfrog Rum Bar

5 out of 5

I was introduced to new drinks on this cruise through this bar. I love their daily specials.

The Posh Restaurant

Three words, Denton, Derrick and James. They made the experience a blast. Csaba (Chubby) the maitre D was also wonderful, funny and kind. I loved the entertainment this month as well.

Cherry on Top

Ordered a cake for a birthday and it despite me asking for a name to be written on it. Won't do that again.

Onboard Activities

The Fun Shops

I live for the $10 days. I purchased my first ever beach hat on Carnival and I now have no less than 10 in my collection thanks to Carnival. The buy 4 get 1 free special is a great deal. And this time I also benefited from the purchase of Ciroc in various flavors. Keep up the good work.

Fitness Center

5 out of 5

Great concept for all the eating that is accomplished on a cruise. The gym was nice and up to date.

Entertainment

Carnival Seaside Theater

There were children in the pool each night I tried to watch movies and they were extremely loud to the point that several patrons kept looking at them but they were bot fazed as they seemed to get louder. I eventually gave up after trying for two nights in a row.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The ro om steward Komanga was efficient. The waiters Derek, Denton and James were AMAZING, Narveen at Guest Services was nice, but QuianXain at guest services left a lot to be desired when I inquired ab out my charges on the last day. She informed me that I could NOT remove my gratuities despite me telling her that I tipped ,my steward and wait staff nightly. Krystoff and Narveen both informed me on different occasions that I could remove them but it had to occur on the last night to ensure all bills were tallied. I also am very grateful for receiving fan upon request when I arrived due to my asthma and sinus issues.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was easily accessible on the ship, especially when you stay on the 8th floor.

Cabin / Stateroom

Ports of call

Key West, Florida

4 out of 5
I think this port should be last as opposed to first due to the expensiveness of the town.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

5 out of 5
Beautiful place to visit.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Townspeople became really agitated when you did not purchase merchandise. Even after I spent $65 in one store and she was unable to sell me anything else her response was "why you gotta act like that?"
