Review summary

So our cruise was cancelled due to the hurricane Harvey. Not upset about it being cancelled because of the hurricane. Pissed off because we were supposed to leave on Saturday. We knew hat wasn't going to happen...evidently Carnival didn't have the same idea. They didn't cancel till Monday. Royal Caribbean cancelled before that. We live 6 hours away. We would have been penalized had we cancelled before carnival actually cancelled so we tried to drive in. Not a happy cruisee

Yes!! Carnival gave us a full refund and 25% off our next cruise.

Do you get your money back if they cancel and you don't have the insurance?

We were in the same situation. It was really my fault for not purchasing insurance. I will never again make that mistake. We could have canceled and been on our way to Destin, Fl where our daughter living. We made an hour outside of Houston before we realised that our cruise was not as important as our lives.
