Review summary

The cruise was wonderful, but embarkation and dembarkation was terrible.  At embarkation all water bottles and Gatorade were confiscated without prior notice.  At dembarkation  someone took one of our pieces of luggage by mistake.  Thankfully the person returned it, but the Carnival staff at dembarkation had me waiting for over two hours to give me my piece of luggage.  The Carnival lost luggage person in charge would tell me it would be here in just a little bit.  My husband and I were tired and hungry especially since it was after our lunch hour.  It was not until 3:50 pm that we received our one piece of luggage.  When I asked for a compensation for waiting, the Carnival Manager said all he could do was help me with my bag.  I was upset because I was unable to eat and my blood sugar was low.  I explanied to Bobby, the Cruise Manager, and he was not empathetically instead he questioned me why I had not told them about my blood sugar.  I did not question because Vicky, lost bagge manager, told me several times that I would receive my luggage in a few minutes.  This incident happened in the Galveston port.

The people in the cruise ship were great especially the international workers, but the people in the port were not very helpful and rude.  I don’t think I want to take another cruise with Carnival line because of the way we were treated on Galveston port.

I'm sorry you let a small issue boil up and ruin your cruise. We've had the same issue once except we didn't look for compensation (why would we?). We notified the GS desk and went about unpacking our carry on bags. I finally went to the desk and saw my luggage in a pile, so I grabbed it and took it to the room. You let yourself become upset which furthered deepened the impact of a small issue. It was a minor issue that actually lasted a few hours but likely affected your whole cruise...

prior notice? lol bottles aren't allowed. if you cared enough you would have done your research.

confiscated without prior notice.......sooooo, I guess the announcement and cruise line website information postings that started 2 years ago don't count as prior notice

The bottled drink policy is plainly stated online. All you have to do is read.

the people at the port work for Galveston port authority and they work with all the cruise ships that embark and Debark there. it isn't fair to hold carnival responsible foyer something that isn't their fault.

You had prior notice your beverages would be confiscated; it's in the cruise contract.

sorry that you had a bad experience. however, on your carnival contract it does clearly state that you cannot bring water bottles or gatorade. obly canned soda and 1 bottle of wine. So next time research will help out. As for the bag issue, I am glad that it was returned, however the baggage people do not work for Carnival and cannot compensate you for that. You can however, complain to the baggage company

so someone took your luggage and you wanted carnival to pay for it? as far as being a diabetic and low blood sugar..... that is your medical problem.... you know your condition and should have had a snack on you like most everyone with this condition does. just looking for something for free. I hate your type. It is clearly stated that the fastest way off a ship is to carry your luggage off.
