Review summary

No complaints for Carnival. We really enjoyed this cruise over our last, which had 3 travel days and 3 ports. This one had a new destination for everyday, which is something we loved. The only let down was that at the places where we snorkeled, there weren't any coral reefs. Have excursions planned for Dominica and St. Lucia definitely. There is not much to see on these islands near the port unless you are into the shopping atmosphere of third world countries and pushy taxi drivers and vendors. We lucked out on St. Lucia despite not having an excursion because we ran into a taxi driver who was a great tour guide and took us to scenic and historical sites for 1.5 hours for a good fee. His name is Felix Anthony at 1-758-486-9930. If you want to save money by not buying an excursion that day but still want to see as much as possible, give him a call when you disembark. The next time we go there, I think we will take an excursion to Soufriere because it is cheaper than using a taxi to there. Besides the Dominica the Easy Way and St. Kitts Kayak and Snorkel excursions, we took taxis every other island except St. Thomas, where we walked and looked. St. Kitts was our favorite island and you can easily get away with just walking around there with it being very nice, modern, and clean. On Barbados we took a taxi to Carlisle bay to swim and snorkel. If you can swim well, you can swim all the way out to where the sea turtles are and swim with them, which people pay extra for (but I didn't, he he he). On St. Maarten, we took a taxi to Maho beach to swim and watch the airplanes fly over head. Ask for Maria Rogers at 721-520-1594 there because she waited for us and gave good advice. I think if we did this again with flying into Puerto Rico a day early and leaving a day late to save on airfare, we will rent a car to save money. It cost us $25 each way to hotel, pier, hotel, and airport. Review your car insurance and booking credit card benefits to see if you have your insurance covered to save money.
