Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Besides being old and needing some design upgrades, the cabins on floor 7 are very, very, noisy. Crew was friendly, food was good (not great - but good), shows were mediocre at best (singers were off-key), and found this to be more of a 'party' ship for those under the age of 50. I much prefer Royal Caribbean.

Fun First Cruise! by buccofan1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We had an excellent time on the Elation!  Definitely recommend Faster to the Fun for ease on arrival and departure day.  We spent most of our time in the Drama Bar with the fabulous Sea Majors.  Their singer, Gina, and their keyboard player were great in the Atrium on elegant night as well.  We never had to wait for the unassigned dining and enjoyed relaxing at the Serenity deck.  Food was fine, but nothing stands out as outstanding.  We were surprised that our room was as big as it was, and really have zero complaints - except that we only booked 4 nights!

I enjoyed everything the cruise had to offer, form the food to the drinks . Except One staff told me that he was not working and was seen serving drinks...That annoyed me but no everyone's is that way the majority of the staff were wonderful. I enjoyed my stay on the cruise and enjoyed the beach in lucaya and Nassau which was breath taking

Elation Review by MissBrittany

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

The staff was great. Everyone was very friendly and respectful. The cabin was small and didn't have a mini fridge. The room and bathroom could use some updating.

This ship was very pretty. We knew this was an older ship but very well kept up. I thought it was beautiful. All the staff was very friendly. We loved our room stewardess  Yessy, she was so sweet and did an amazing job. I would definitely recommend this cruise!

Mediocre Cruise by ambonito

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Took this cruise out of convenience to our home in Brunswick, GA and because it went to Key West, FL. Food wasn't too bad. We had dining that was not set and we sat at some tables where the service was good but they did not keep the table clean if crumbs or liquid was present. On other cruise lines, they almost immediately cleaned the table. Some waiters had little to no personality, however, some were excellent.

The rooms were very outdated as this is an older ship. Carpet was patched where they removed the TV stand and it looked horrible. The old style TV was super old and the picture was so bad the contrast made it almost impossible to watch. After two+ days of asking for them to adjust it they finally made it somewhat better. Bathroom tile was somewhat moldy.. Onboard entertainment was the worst that I have ever seen.

The port authority staff were the worst. On return we had to wait almost an hour and a half to get to customs because their system was horrible. If I had it to do all over again I would leave from another port and go for a longer cruise.

I love to cruise by sford42960765

I really love to cruise.

Second time on this ship.  Now a total of 16 days on this ship.

I don't like the Bahamas but I did like the traveling there.

Did not have Lobster in the dining menu, unless you paid and extra $25.00.

My steward Ansar was great.

Wish the ship had more things to do during the day (sea days).

Everyone was friendly and helpful.  Did not meet anyone who did not do their best to make this a great experience.

Wonderful experience! by shahy100

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Everything was wonderful at the elation except that the pool is a bit small with only one slide which was hard to accommodate the number of guests & kids on cruise, in addition the hot tubs were not all functioning at all times!

Other than that, service was excellent, food & entertainment were great,,,Will do it again for sure!LoveHappyHappy

I can't wait to do it again! by llorip613

This was my first cruise and I'm already planning my next one.  One of my favorite things was our waiter, Kim.  Not only was he very accommodating of my dietary needs, he went out of his way to make sure that I was happy.  He was funny, friendly, and kind.  He remembered all of our names, what we liked to drink, that my daughter preferred French fries with her steak when she forgot to order them.  I just can't say enough.  The entertainment was great.  All of the staff was great.  Half moon cay is the most beautiful place I have ever been.  I was able to just relax and enjoy myself.

We love Carnival Cruise Lines - they've always treated us very well and these back-to-back cruises were an extension of the same. These, our first cruises with Carnival as Diamond members were truly wonderful.

Carnival is always fun by buddechris

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Carnival Cruises has really upped their game as far as stateroom service and having rooms ready when you board.  It's nice to be able to drop off our stuff before heading up to the Lido Deck for a delicious lunch.  So much always going on to have fun with or a nice little nap in our room, whatever you choose.

My only complaint,  our blue towels were not replaced after we used them.  Everything else was grand, food on Lido and in the dining room were all delicious.  We were paired with lovely people for dinner and the waitstaff were quite accommodating .  Lots of happy faces for a short, enjoyable, relaxing cruise.

value for money by rrtumala

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Best was...Ticket pricing(pricing itself gets 1 additional star),food esp. mongolian wok, spacious rooms, Kids Camps and overall service by the couteous staff.

Areas for Improvement: Entertainment in general esp. family oriented entertainment,Ship decor/ambience (felt it is dated and stressed, it need a makeover), kids camps could have provided lunch/ dinners rather parents picking them up for lunch/dinner and dropping them back. Better choice / value on onshore excursion. Formal Dinner Menu may need to be updated in quality as well as choices. Some days we skipped looking at the menu but since there were other options we were good.

My trip was lil disappointing because of the cancellation of onshore excursions due to inclement weather at Half Moon Cay but the carnivals private white sand beach is amazing. Loved it. Overall the trip met my expectations and whole family enjoyed it and my 4 yr and 11 yr old kids loved the camp carnival.
