Review summary

Embarkation was very easy. New Orleans has ample parking and room to get guests on board.

We've cruised Elation before and always chose an ocean view cabin. This time we had a grand suite. It was definitely worth the extra money because we had a great balcony and with 3 people cruising, we needed the extra room.

Food was pretty good except for the grits at breakfast, which were always cold or runny. The Mongolian Wok was delicious, Be prepared to stand in line though. It's very popular. The MDR staff were attentive and made dinner very enjoyable.

We did a ruin excursion on Cozumel Island - it was fun and allowed us to have time to shop before heading back to the ship. At Progreso, we took another ruin excursion to Uxmal. This one is definitely worth doing.

Elation is one of my favorite ships and this cruise was no different.

Ship tip

Take a taxi in Cozumel and go downtown. Pass up everything in the square and go to the neighborhood to enjoy the real Cozumel.
