This was the Ecstasy's first cruise after dry dock. There were many things that didn't work or were being worked on. I learned to never book the first cruise after dry dock. Every one has a worst cruise; this was ours.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
Horrible! We sat in the parking lot for 3 hours while contractors finished work. We couldn't board the ship until all contractors were off the ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We ate in the MDR once. The MDR is smaller than we are used to and found the tables were closer to each other than we are used to.
Bar
5 out of 5
The Alchemy bar was the best spot on the ship!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We played Trivia but the location is just outside the casino so cigarette smoke was very present.
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
There didn't seem to be enough staff to service the staterooms, bus the Buffet tables, etc.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
This one of the original ships so it seems small by today's standards.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
We had an inside cabin; I learned that inside cabins are not for me.
Ship tip
She is an older ship, small by today's standards. She may be a good choice for a long weekend get away but wouldn't recommend sailing on her for a week or longer.
Didn't care for our tour guide (independent). He took us to his aunt's souvenir shop, another aunt's perfume shop, an uncle's bar, showed us a beach and then back to the ship. Didn't care for his "tour".
We went on the ecstasy right before dry dock and out of 7 cruises it was our least favorite ship if driving i recommend going to Charleston and on the Sunshine.
Sorry you didn’t enjoy it. It’s always a good idea to book at least a month after dry dock or first sailing for a new ship for all of the issues to be resolved.
