I did not enjoy.......................................
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very easy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a little awkward having to haul my carry on luggage around while waiting to get into our stateroom.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Only come products were available and they were overpriced. Sweet iced was not available and unsweetened tea cost extra. The food served in the dining rooms was very good. I would have liked some options for snacks.
Wind Song Dining Room
5 out of 5
The wait staff was wonderful. Juan and Wayhou took care of our table. They were efficient, courteous and very friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed the nightly show.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The weather was not conducive to outside activities. My roommates had to leave the ship due to a medical emergency and I was on my own.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
The medical staff, captain and crew went above and beyond to assist my friend during her emergency. She had a stroke during the first night. All was excellent until the last day. Guest services called me multiple times trying to get me to pay my roommate's medical bill. They kept insisting that I was her sister and that either myself or someone else in our group should pay. I gave them her sister's contact information but no one contacted her. When she contacted Carnival she was told that they couldn't discuss anything with her because she wasn't on the cruise.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
There was a pervasive odor of mildew in one section of the passageway near my stateroom. Other than that the ship was very clean and in good repair.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Definitely too small to comfortably accommodate three adults. The air was too dry. The only way to adjust the temperature was located on the ceiling. It would have been nice to have had more control over the temperature.
Ship tip
Be sure to take plenty of snacks and a 12 pack of your favorite soft drinks.
The beach was clean and there were plenty of chairs available. I don't think the pool noodles, kayaks, etc. should have cost extra. Princess Cay is owned by Carnival. These extras should have been included.
Cruises just might not be for you! We went on our first cruise and we had a blast, somethings we felt could have been done better but, that's just how things go you roll with it! It's vacation some people don't get to do this so I count my blessings and planning another one hopefully next few months
As the other people said, research (especially about your room) is key. I don't know who told you unsweetened tea cost extra because it does not and you would see it was on the bar on the lido with the ice, lemonade and coffee. They don't have sweet tea, but there are options to sweeten it. You always have to research before you spontaneously book things, that's the smart thing to do. When my family goes, we all share a room. That's 5 adults and we all fit comfortably so I don't know what type of room you were in. Cruises don't want you staying in the room 24/7.
Sorry that you didn't enjoy your room. They are small, why we get balcony room. We cruised the Ecstasy in 2011 and everything was good. Every Carnival ship I have been on has had iced tea and several different sweeteners all for free. Maybe if you go online and research a room you will find one you like. Also visit the forums for each ship and ask questions.
Yes the iced tea on Carnival is unsweetened but you can mix it with Lemonade. As far as your room it sounds like you didn't research prior to booking. I personally wouldn't book a room with more than another adult since the rooms are tight, but if you researched prior to booking you would of known that.
Sorry you didn't like your cruise it's unfortunate. I checked all my luggage in and just kept a small tote with bathing suit essentials in case I wanted to get in pool while waiting on room. As for the tea carnival the tea is free.
