Review summary

Highlights: service, fun team staff, and food was excellent, embarkation and debarkation was quick and painless. Lows: the ship was dark and out-dated, Princess Cays was not a good experience.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was extremely quick and efficient! I was surprised by how quickly we were through the process and enjoying the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Taco bar and Guy's Burger Joint were so, so delicious. The Seaday Brunch also stood out as exceedingly excellent food. Desserts on the buffet and the breakfast buffet was just so-so; the food for breakfast room service wasn't good; the buffet was hit and miss (some items were amazing, some were Golden Corral quality). Our headwaiter Eddy deserves kudos for his great service to our family in the dining room.

Metropolis Bar

2 out of 5

the service was very slow.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The extra costs for activities was surprising--we chose very few extra on-board activities. The hot tubs were falling apart and constantly packed full.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Trivia with Dave and Houston was our favorite activity. They were very entertaining and the perfect activity for our cold and rainy cruise. Brittney did a great job with hype and information. Comedian Doug Williams was amazing...tears...tears....tears.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
there weren't enough older teens to make the O club fun for our teen. however, our 12 year olds had an amazing time in the C club. Highlight was awesome ball and bingo, the leader Crystal kept good responsible control of the kids while being loads of fun.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The ship was older, dark, and more out-dated than expected. There were areas that weren't super clean or updated.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our staff was excellent and attentive, Andre I believe was his name. Cleanliness upon arrival was so-so. There was food stuck on the curtain and 'window' shelf and hair in the shower drain. But, during our stay Andrew kept the room in tip-top shape. The Bedding was heavenly.

Ports of call

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

1 out of 5
The sea was rough, the sea bottom rocks made swimming almost impossible. I couldn't believe our drink packages didn't work on the private island---$20.00 vodka and soda water--$3.00 cola. Shocking. The 'pay' umbrella cabanas were in the way of the views and crowding the beach areas. The jerk chicken for lunch was outstanding!

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

Safety was a concern. Excursion pricing for a family of 7 were unaffordable.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Super quick. I liked the option to carry our own bags for easy and quick disembarkation.

First time cruising with two boys 7 and 9. When you say extra cost for activities can you expand on that. I thought everything was included.

1st time Cruiser here and one of our stops is Princess Cay, could you perhaps expound on your issues with it please?
