Had a good time took some lovely pictures really enjoyed the shows. They were better than the shows at Myrtle Beach. Gained 3 pds. Ate things i have never eat before and ran out of time did not get to play putt putt or go to the GYM. Left some extra tips to some real caring folks who took pride in there job. Wasted some time on the jewelry sell it shows. Learned i would rather have a lock cut off a suitcase than have a few of my favorite things disapear before it gets to ship.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Faster than my Sept.27th cruise. Less places to stop before your car arrives at parking garage. Shorter lines at security. Our check in time was 12:30 pm to 1:pm. Between the time i left my left unlocked luggage with parking lot porter and it arrived at the cabin 3 items disappeared. They were not expensive but were mine. A pair of silver flip flops a pink flowered swim top and my favorite black skort. They were missing when i unpacked in my cabin. That's why i could not give a 5.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food was good and plenty to choose from. Sudipau gave me a tip on picking the best honeydew melon and i ate it every meal.He also seen to it that i got to try 3 different okra dishes that i had never tried before. Only ate in dineing room 3 times. Wished i had tried the dining room for breakfast. I tasted at least 8 different desserts each day. went to eat at lido buffet a couple of times and it was closed. That included the day we left. I was still able to get cereal and fruit. Guys burgers closed at 6 pm. I had the app. on my phone but did not think to keep reading for time changes.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Pools and hot tubs were always full. The ship rocked so much at night when pool was closed the water was making big waves and coming out all over deck. It was nicer up on water slide deck or on back of lido deck. The serenity deck hot tub was nice and the cool shower to. A couple of the upper floors were not wheelchair acces.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Singers and dancers were great. 2 of the female singers are good enough to be on broadway. I would like to see an afternoon music show. The bingo games do not belong in the show lounge. They are just another way for carnival to make money. family comedy show was good. Adult comedy show was gross.Language.
Children's Programs
no kids
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
I wayan was my room steward in april and again this trip. He filled my ice bucket twice a day. And when my group would get out the door before me just like the april cruise he would point me in the right direction. we had sudipau and amos in the dining room. Amos was funny and sudipau would be on lido deck at night and would tell us things about the ship and his home country. I had pre ordered a tote bag and beach towel for my cabin. the first time i used it the bag strap tore. The blond girl at service desk took care of getting a new one put in my cabin.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
For the ships age it did not look to bad. The staff was always cleaning. The ship smelled fine except near the casino. To much smoke. The old saying you can't get there from hear apply's. from the lower decks in the back to get to the blue sapharre lounge deck 9 in front you must take 2 elevators unless you walk from back to front on deck 4 or 5 then take elevator.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Cabin was small but was clean had x-tra pillows. Cabin was loud. At night 2 or 3 times a night it sound like someone below us was washing out a big tin tub with a power washer. You could here every ones around you toilet flush. next time i will bring a fan to drown out noise.
Ship tip
Lock your checked suitcase. bring a fan or ear plugs. Don't forget sea bands. Check food serving times every day and not just at the begining of your trip.
Not a clean Island. Some of the open buisness still had some of the windows boarded up. Good shopping and bartering. Did excursion to atlantis. It was not worth the $65. Our guide knew all about island. Most of the animal life we seen was set up like a zoo made out of plastic and cement. The only beach i seen was set up like a inlet and was not as long as a football field.
The beach had sand hauled in because of hurricanes. It was not pretty. THe water had softball size rocks in it was very hard to try and walk in and keep your balance. Went shopping on backside of beach out a gate with guard. good prices. This island not as pretty as half moon cay,
I had 2 other cabins people riding with me on this group we were with and we all had different embarkation numbers. We also had 1 person in a wheelchair. A little confusing. We did not have to fill out a customs form only declare verbally to what we bought.
Next time i will lock it anyway so if they cut it off it will probably will be in customs or on ship and not on parking lot somewhere. i will have a second set of locks to lock it up in cabin when i go somewhere. zip ties could be cut off with pocket knife
